Anyone else notice how Paul's given like over 10 interviews over the course of a couple months? Hard worker!

This resonates with me. I played guitar and have actually lost the joy in playing as I have lost hearing in my left ear due to an infection that wasn't treated properly, and I am awaiting a surgery to clear things out which requires an 8 to 10 hour op. That if I don't get within 5 years and it has been 3 already on the NHS it could lead to meningitis and kill me. Which I don't want as I have kids. I am stuck on a list and not being seen. The specialist says the cochlea in my right ear is dying, that the one I currently hear out of. I am mid 40s and it sucks but my eldest son plays and it is good to see him loving it. When I have hearing aids in the D string disapears as well.

They said at my op they might be able to fix my hearing in my left ear, that one that is currently bad  or address it with a follow up op. It feels very exhausting at times trying to concentrate hard on working out what is said, before even taking the meaning out of it. Its like my brain is doing overtime.  It can also feel very isolating when you are with people and struggle to follow what is said. I also feel because I can speak as someone not horn deaf, I am constantly having to remind folk even family by the way I have hearing issues. I get that people are fed up repeating for me and I am just as fed up asking and it isn't my fault, but I feel guilty at causing others issues just because of my hearing. I see how tiring it is for my mrs and sons at times.

I really feel where Paul is coming from. All the best.

MY heart goes out to you Paul you have served a long time teaching and inspiring.millions Play because of you

Wow Paul interview in a car

Awesome interview

Love this guy. A guitar powerhouse and a joy to listen to. Looking forward to some West Coast shows.

I can imagine some of those cars on the freeway rockin' out to Mr. Big not knowing they're passing Mr. Big himself 🤘🏽.

Paul is such a likeable guy.

Great interview, nice chat rather then just playing. You asked a lot of things I wanted to know 👍

Met Paul on WROC tour just a few weeks back - a true gentleman, all-around nice guy, and MONSTER player!  Thanks Paul for the conversation, the autographs, and a great show!  And Acoustic Samurai is simply a BLAST - you can hear how hard it was, but it totally rocks!

I love Paul, he's been such a huge influence on my playing. I'm always learning from him. Good dude too!

Paul ist the best! Such a nice dude!

All the (for me) new information Paul gives about himself makes him greater than he really is... And be sure he's great.

Great interview.  Paul is the nicest guy. Was awesome to meet him in Hickory NC a while back.

... Seemed like an update from a doctor from another galaxy. Thanks Dr

What a bloke

Sometimes, when my radios quiet, and I can barely hear it, I'll be hearing it in the wrong key until I turn it up a little

Paul rocks

@25:08 - timestamp should probably be corrected to "jamming with Emi Gilbert".  Fantastic interview though! Looking forward to more of these!
