Just came across this video Paul as ive stated previously i worked for the building and works dept from 86 to 96 based in Hawthorn st i was a driver labourer worked on the empty house squad clearing empty houses for the tradesmen to do their maintenance work cant believe the changes to Possilpark it was all tenements back in my day and rough as hell happy days thanks for the memories God Bless mate John fae Glesga
I was born on on the very last corner of the sandstones of |Ally st & sarry st & grew up in the 70's. They knocked the top end of Allander st down now. Used to be called the Jungle in them days. & a no go. Plod would only go in in riot vans lol
Enjoying your videos Paul but as an exiled Glaswegian of 50 years ago I would like more info on the change from tenements demolished to new build council or private. I'd like to imagine or remember what the old Glasgow looked like. All the best and thanks for your travels .

Possilpark was the drug supply centre of Scotland in the 80’s and 90’s….nowadays drugs are available everywhere including some of the smallest villages….absolutely tragic…broken lives….broken homes…..broken dreams……the one positive is the demolition of the old council houses and tenements and the new builds with the gardens…..
