Hot Take: JoJo isn't that confusing, most fans just don't know how to read.

@AeonKnigh432 1 year ago

"Coincidental bound by fate." Yeah. That's how fate works. Like. Conceptually.

"the explanation of the stone mask took away the supernatural elements of it"
The explanation: an ancient god like being wanted to go out in the sun so he created a mask that gives you superpowers

“Jojo fans can’t be THAT dumb”.

Jojo fans: “You can skip to the end of Stone Ocean and not miss anything”.

"Yes, this is how fiction works" is the new "how refrigerators work" lmao, this community is the gift that keeps on giving.

the pink suit giorno matches much better with his hair and stand than the blue, plus its very recognizable

The utilitarian approach to watching anime vexes me too. I dont know why anyone would want to skip Josuke using Mikitaka to cheat at Rohan's game, its such a great episode.

Hot Take: Jotaro often gets mischaracterized as an omega unfeeling badass or whatever. We see time and time again he genuinely cares a lot about stuff even if he does try to hide it BECAUSE HE IS A TEEN.

He notices his mom doesn't come to say goodbye to him despite him claiming to hate hit, he asks Avdol to say one liners, and more.

And this gets proved again when you look at Iggy.

Jotaro really is just a teenager

that one panel of Avdol has funded Hamon Beat's whole career

I'm starting to feel like Stardust Crusaders is more of a victim of hype-backlash than anything. It's been promoted over other parts for so long that people are a little too eager to accept criticism without questioning it. It hits far more often than it misses.

i said this in the post already but i think diavolo is underrated. his name being the inverse of dio's is a great way of showing their opposing views of fate, where dio wants people to embrace it while diavolo runs from it. this also makes him the perfect antithesis to the lessons of part 5, and i think that's neat. also kc is very cool

That explanation about Marco at the end was absolutely beautiful. Made me wanna give a standing ovation for just that. Just realized how much of part 7's thematics I failed to connect. This guys knows jojo.

i just know Araki had a big smile plastered on his face when he wrote marco “would later die of a cold”

My hot take that was reinforced by this video is that people are overusing the word "Filler" as a criticism.

Stories are not just about getting from Plot Point A to Plot Point B in the most direct and straightforward way possible, an episode or a chapter not directly focusing on the main storyline doesn't mean it's unimportant or bad.

I find it sad how some people treat manga, anime, films, games, media that has shown that they can be art forms, as simple products to be consumed (and consumed as fast as possible, hence the usual complaints about filler).
Like, yeah, it's entertainment, but for the people that created it, it's something more. "A celebration of humanity", after reading Jojo for almost a decade, I can agree about that.

@torphurus 1 year ago

20:54 i disagree with this ENTIRELY. johnny's dad showing up is one of the only scenes in any piece of media at all that made me cry

@Harumaki_sg 1 year ago

God the gyro analysis at the end is so spot on, people completely misunderstand his character and the message of the story simply because they didn't like the outcome.

1:45 And besides, the man became a wealthy businessman who began his own scientific foundation, which first was devoted to studying the biology of vampires, masks and pillar men, then switched to stands and similar phenomenons, since everything in JoJo is hyper advanced biology seeping into metaphysical. Same with Jotaro ending up a biologist, becoming a member of Speedwagon foundation, which then pursued the Arrow and any traces of Dio to keep any Jojo threats from returning

@Myne1001 1 year ago

9:57 this panel made me realise Koichi has met more JoJos than any other character in the series (four to be exact)

@TheSuperSuchi 1 year ago

21:45 "their future lives are kept a mystery" We actually do have one hint about their relationship after part 7. It's the fact that Johnny named his son after his father. I don't think a man who hasn't forgiven his father would do something like that.
