"It's my turn to choose the movie for movie night"

I learned so many tips and tricks from this vid it's insane. Also hilarious how you got several top tier weapons at the start of this educational run

Just wanted to appreciate the level of detail that has been covered in this video. Thank you.

this was so cool thank you so much for making this

Wow, awesome!

I just started playing this game. First saw it, ironically, in a video that basically had NOTHING to do with FTL or roguelikes. Martincitopants's video on Factorio Space Exploration (An overhaul mod for Factorio), the mod has a small ship you can find, which its layout is an homage to the Kestrel. No idea what that referenced at that time. Later, I watched Grant from GiantGrantGames play FTL on livestream and thought it looked cool, so I bought it. Glad that I did, because I love the game even though I've lost every game so far, lol (played 5 or 6 so far, but the farthest I got was the boss fight 3rd phase and it had 6 HP left before I just got demolished).

Wanted to understand the game better and found this awesome video, watched the whole thing and was in slack-jawed awe as you defeated the freaking boss with only 2 points of hull damage taken. Honestly amazing to me, and now I am gonna try again!

Did have one question; my five or six attempts, I never saw things like mind control, but I didn't have advanced settings on. Is that why those gadgets never showed up? I don't know what shows up and what doesn't with advanced settings (yet). Though I will be turning them on now. XD

Watched about an hour and half in before starting another run, just because I felt like I couldn't soak up anymore info. I beat the game on easy! It was your tips on cloaking, micro pauses, weapons, power management, and other small tips like pathing on sectors or coinflip encounters that really helped me out! Especially cloaking and micro pauses, that helped out a lot with timing and getting an edge over enemy ships. Thanks!! Great video! I'll watch the rest now

Thanks man, I finally beat this on easy. Now to normal....

Coming back to the game after being frustrated several times in the past, the tips, tricks, and general knowledge shared here led to two back to back runs getting to the Flagship and finally getting that win.  By far not nearly as clean as Crow but I'll take it for what it is and keep honing from there.

Wow lots of good information here.
One thing I like to do for safe fights like at 28:00 is unpower weapons and train the shield guy if I have one.

Also, wanted to add that right after I saw this video, I immediately did a playthrough and implemented the knowledge in a run, and I ended up winning for the very first time!

“Easy guide” proceeds to upload 3h+ video

I got back into FTL after basically only getting 1 win on kestrel easy and dropping it afterwards for a year.
Now that I'm back and suffering through trying to get a Torus win and get to other ships, I'm hoping to learn some tips for shoring up my runs.
It's a fun game, but goddamn there's so many layers of RNG to manage.

The one thing I love about FTL is stealth. Especially with the Artillery Beam (spoilers), blend those two together and the game suddenly gets really fun. Double with maximizing Zoltan, to get all those extra reactor points and if I have 8 systems I want at maximum power, that's more than a hard-capped 25 reactor can handle all by itself, and Zoltan get me to that 110% I really want to reach.

And, 1 hour in...maybe it's because I'm coming at this from the "Multiverse" unofficial expansion/sequel, but Flagship can work with 0 crew, so how does teleporter (a.k.a. boarding the Flagship) make it "trivialized"? Unless it's like taking the systems offline (But automated drones can fix themselves without crew, so can't the Flagship do the same?).

Once you have all your ship systems wouldn't you want to still visit stores for augments ?

Could you provide a link to the mod you are talking about? Counting dashes doesn't sound fun.

Jared Leto missile.

Huh, I'm surprised you were willing to stick with the BL1. with 2 BL2s and a Flak1 I'd have tried to trade for a beam or missile for backup firepower or something.

Is getting lv 4 shields in 3 sectors good?

idk if its actually good, but running the double scrap arm gave me so much scrap I could fully upgrade my ship and ran out of things to buy (bad shop luck). Allowed me to get my first win.

what a great video but talk ab streamer loot LOL
