I dated a female jet pilot based at RAF Vally North Wales, she knew the Mach Loop and it’s manoeuvers very well. The Mach Loop takes it’s path along North Wales by the way, and is named after Machynlleth valley. The pilot in the video briefly mentions he’s flying over North Wales before approaching the Lake District. Boomer, please watch the amazing Mach Loop videos of enthusiasts climbing the mountain of North Wales as the jet fly by at camera level, with pilots from around the world graciously tilting their wings to show off their colours, with many clear cockpit views of pilots giving the thumbs up to the photographers at head height.

He was doing 561mph at a hight of 250ft above ground level.

You can tell the skill level when they're pulling 5g inverted or flying 250ft above the ground and casually narrating everything that's happening as calmly as when they were flying at 40,000 ft

Love the typhoons but being British nothing beats the harrier jump jet

Lake District is my neck of the woods. They tend to come over in twos, very low, very fast and very loud.

American can’t help clapping when the plane lands. 😂😂😂

15 years ago driving a coach with German students through the Lake District with them getting all excited watching RAF Tornados flying through the valley BELOW us.

Can confirm Boomer is the type of guy to applaud when the plane lands 😂.

I have driven that road when two Typhoons have flown through - weird seeing two fighters in your rear view mirror - noisy too!

Low flying has been a long standing tradition in the RAF in any conflict going back to beyond WW2

The Typhoon was one of the reasons I used to go to the Bournemouth air show.

It shocked people every time because most would be waiting to hear the plane before they saw it whereas the Typhoon went by silently with the sound following afterwards. 😂

My son was an RAF Typhoon instructor pilot, based finally at RAF Coningsby. He once flew to the US Nellis airbase for exercises and did several stints in the Falklands.

This is the Lake District loop and the Welsh loop shown. I've jumped out of my skin so many times hiking in the Lakes when they roar over head as you often don't hear them coming depending on direction and with the fells/valleys blocking. Walking and in your own little quiet world miles from anyone and next second ear splitting jet a few hundred feet over your head.

I remember hiking through the highlands of Scotland and looking DOWN on two Tornado fighters flying through Glen Tanar in Aberdeenshire!!

Growing up in mid Wales as a kid we also had the RAF practicing low level flying in the hills as well. It was absolutely brilliant being at the top of a hill and you could see Harriers and Tornado's flying beneath you .

A friend who lives in the Lake District said that the other week, when he went for a walk, he could tell that we were in some sort of war because there were planes going over all the time.

People go to film and take photos of the aircraft as they go through the Mach loop and they look down on the planes as they pass by... it's incredible!!

As a 13 year old in the early 1970s I was at a boarding school in norfolk UK for 3 years .
our school was on the R.A.F FLIGHT TRAINING PATH . The pilots would always give the kids
a show as they came over our school grounds flying as low as 500 feet sometimes they would
just sit in the sky hovering in the greatest jet ever the harrier jump jet . Truely amazing site and the
noise would shake our dinner plates and cutlery on the dinner tables when they flew over at meal times
loved it .

These do low flying over my house at least once a week. Noisy buggers, but when they're doing night flights and they light up the cans it's something really cool to see.
