After watching this documentary, I am even more appreciative of Steve Perry, his integrity and values. If my mother was very if I lost my mother and if I had severe pain and needed more time to heal, I would not hesitate in taking the time off to do that. I am so glad that he did. Too bad that the other band members did not have the maturity to wait longer for his recovery or the compassion to support Steve's recovery. Wellness comes first. And "family" do take care of their family members when they are hurt and nurture them back to health. Finding a replacement was a clear message that money and the branding of the band were the priority. No matter many times Journey tried to replace Steve Perry with Steve Perry sound-alike vocalists, no matter how lovely these vocalists were, the truth of the matter is that Steve Perry was, is, and will always be irreplaceable. You cannot replace a person's soul, heart, and energy.
My husband Patrick just got a total hip replacement 2 weeks ago tomorrow, and let me tell you something, it is not a decision you just make over night or even months. This is major surgery! It took my husband 3 years to make this decision to finally have it done. He is now recovering good thanks to god. But I totally can relate to Steve's decision to seek other rimiedies and not just do it on a fly. But he did what was best for him and I'm happy for him no matter what. All us fans our behind 100% Steve :)
The way Neal said "we are going to get somebody who wants to work" just makes it seem like Steve Perry didn't want to work when he physically could not!
The fact that the current Journey members try to replace steve perry with steve perry sound-a-likes, is a true testament to Steve Perry, and the effect he had on Journey's music. They've been reduced to a "Cover Band" which is unfortunate, and I wouldn't go see them if they were playing at the local county Fair across the street (and it is across the street) lol, without Steve Perry.
Steve Perry is still a Hottie!!!
Best wishes for a long and happy life, to all Journey Members, and Especially Steve Perry, You've given me hours of joy with your beautiful singing, and soul, and here is hoping life brings you all the joy, you have given the fans. Best Wishes Steve.
Steve is one of the nicest people I've ever Met! I live in his hometown of Lemoore, California and we are so very proud of him ! No one can ever take his Place! There is only one Steve Perry !
Steve lives life from the heart-people like him hear his heart. He was the total opposite of a narcissist and why he made his decisions from the heart as well
See! he didn't want to leave the band!!! his own words!! " You know, don't fracture the name JOURNEY. Go out and do whatever you want to with whom ever you want to BUT LEAVE JOURNEY ALONE!!!!"
