Before Project X-Pack became one of the most recognisable cars on the channel, it started with a crash that should have ended the story.

After a serious accident destroyed my first Capri, I decided that if I was going to rebuild it, I wasn't going to simply replace what I'd lost. Instead, I set out to build the Capri I'd always dreamed of owning: a blue twin-turbo X-Pack Capri.

Over the following years, Project X-Pack became far more than just a car build. From cutting up the original shell, salvaging all useful parts, then fitting the widebody conversion to the new shell, to building the twin-turbo setup, wiring, fabrication, paint, first start-up, road trips and inevitable breakdowns, this project taught me more than I ever expected.

This supercut condenses more than 1,300 minutes of Project X-Pack footage into a single feature-length build movie, telling the complete story from start to finish.

This project started after a crash that should probably have ended my Capri ownership altogether, but instead it turned into years of fabrication, problem solving, road trips, late nights and some brilliant memories.

Tell is more about the crash with the horses. It must of been absolute carnage, a chaotic scene. Were there riders on the horses? Soo sad that two of them lost their lives tho 😢

5:30: Don't scrap it find a bottom rotten doner for the whole roof and A ,B pillars especially with you have a second to reference measurements so you can get the measurements of the other straight one even make up a front mounting point jig reference frame to start slot over locate from under the two front chassis rails and forward and diagonal measurements and final a spirit level check tweek after drilling the spot weld's then with a hydraulic porter press set aren't expensive £100 ISH all you need to match between each fixing points. To the start chassis legs then up to the top strut mount and the front ends of chassis legs corner of front cross member and re weld the spot weld back up just leaving two wings bonnet and one ready for future life fun project for just your time mainly

That Red Capri shell you Can get a sierra XR4X4 2.9 V6 12 valve we call it, some countries have a different name for the same car that has fitted the fuel injected named "cologne" made from Germany 12 valve 2.9 V6 push rod 2 big valves per cylinder or the Capri carburettor British 3.0 V6 "Essex" responds well to a single bottom of the V road/race Piper cams or Kent cams upgrade especially with turbo's fitted on top the 4 wheel drive box with a extra forward facing output driveshaft flange to connect to the front differential that's part of the engine sump or just Rear wheel drive MT75 gearbox for 5 speed not the MT74 which was only 4 speed rear drive only box.
Try and get a 12v 2.9 V6 XR4x4 engine has the front differential as part of the engine sump if you want to do a 4x4 Bullet bad Ass that handling let's you get away with most anything bar raining might need clean underwear for afterwards 😂

This build is my dream car, im 46… only thing i would do different is the paint. Id paint it black. Maybe try and V8 it with twin turbos if its even possible…. I can dream

loved ma Capri's, I had 7 of em from a 1.6 laser right up to a brooklands big boi lol
the best one of them was my MK1 3.1 GT was a beastie but hey how kids came and life got in the way wish I still had some of em now tho,
