Who did the best?

Just a small note; this was a cypher not a rap battle. Only real difference is that means they weren't trying to beat each other, they were just trying to show of their skills as rappers, albeit in character. Rustage is a huge history buff.

George Washington here! I’m honored that you appreciated my part and this project as a whole. Especially since you’re a history guy 😅

6:40 He actually has an entire rap dedicated to Alexander the Great that dives much deeper into his historical roots. You should definitely give the song a listen too. "Too Great - Alexander the Great"

This is the translations for Tokugawa's verse
Takechiyo was born
Craving peace, sworn
From Mikawa I rose, made all Japan transform
Chunky, shrewd, a crafty tanuki lord
Took the crown from the monkey at Sekigahara's war
East vs West - the fate of the land at stake
Fired-up courage, victory's mine to take
Not just to win, or inherit a seat
But to bring this shattered nation to lasting peace
Even now, the model of what a shogun means
Blue skies and green rice fields - I kept 'em clean
Scenic beauty
From high towers I gaze down on my city's gleam
Witness the rise - Edo Shogunate's might
Dawn breaks - I stride with power, in plain sight

Edit: Jusy realised I should say I didn't translate this. I found this on the original video and copied it over. Thank @うねり白. Not me. He did it.

Fun Fact Danbull, the voice of Harold Bluetooth in this, played both Jack the Ripper and Winston Churchill in ERB

The genre for this is called Nerdcore, named by a guy called Mc Frontalot. ERB kinda falls into that genre but they represent more of the battle side of it. I don't think most of it would work on the channel but Rustage has a few that would such as the King Arthur rap which touches on some of the historical myths around the character

You missed the part of about Caesar’s line saying how they should raise his ransom. He was kidnapped by Pirates and they held them into ransom and then he famously told them to raise his ransom. He also also told the Pirates that he would come back and kill them all via crucifixion. He did

Fun fact. The bluetooth symbol is H and B runics. Named after Herold Bluetooth

7:34 It seems there is no explanation about Queen Seondeok, so I will explain
Queen Seondeok, the first queen of Silla, ascended the throne as an unprecedented female monarch and, despite many challenges, ruled her kingdom with wisdom and stability. She strengthened Buddhism as the ideological foundation of the state and greatly promoted culture. She built temples such as Bunhwangsa and Yeongmyosa, and initiated the construction of the nine-story wooden pagoda at Hwangnyongsa, which became a spiritual and national symbol. She also ordered the construction of Cheomseongdae, the oldest surviving astronomical observatory in the world, which contributed to the advancement of agriculture and science. In diplomacy, she maintained friendly relations with the Tang Dynasty, laying the groundwork for the later unification of the Three Kingdoms. With her philosophy of valuing the well-being of the people, she won popular support and helped Silla flourish culturally. For these reasons, Queen Seondeok is remembered as a ruler who laid the foundations for a period of prosperity and cultural brilliance.

However, her reign was not without its limitations. Militarily, she struggled to defend against the constant invasions of Goguryeo and Baekje, and the fall of Daeya Fortress to King Uija of Baekje in 642 dealt a heavy blow to Silla. Furthermore, as a female monarch, she faced strong opposition from the aristocracy, which eventually culminated in the large-scale rebellion led by Bidam and Yeomjong in 647. Thus, while Queen Seondeok achieved remarkable progress in culture, religion, and diplomacy, her reign was marked by shortcomings in military strength and political stability.

In conclusion, Queen Seondeok can be seen as a brilliant leader who established the cultural, diplomatic, and ideological foundation for Silla’s future unification, yet one whose rule was challenged by military weakness and aristocratic resistance.

Translation for chandragupta maurya's verse:
You don't know what a ruler is.
What respect is, what power is.
What is that thing of starting from nothing?
What is a Chakravarti Emperor?
I built a new empire here.
I wiped out the entire ravages of Dhanananda.
I laid the foundation of that empire.
Which achieved undivided India.
I bowed my head only before my Guru.
I always believed only his words here.
From the art of warfare to politics.
I acquired knowledge only from my Guru.
Janu Pura Sham Daam Dand Bhed.
I will set my foot wherever I find the entire land.
Whoever bears enmity with me will not be spared.
I have not become a lion like Chandragupta.

I thought Philip cooked, ate, and left no crumbs. The mix of english and spanish was PEAK and his bars were good too. As far as self-promotion goes, him and Suleiman swagged out the hardest, and you can't deny Philip's place as ruler of the worlds first real superpower.

Rustage is a big name in NerdCore (basically rapping about nerdy stuff like anime and video games) as were most of the people on this cypher. If you're the type of person who's into that kinda stuff, you might like the other material coming out of the culture. But they sometimes do history stuff too. This is by far the biggest one they've done.

Unexpected reaction. Rustage has a few more historical raps like Anubis and people like that

This wasn't a rap battle, this was a cypher, which is more focused on self promotion and good rapping. If you liked this, Rustage has done raps on other historical figures/mythology. Two of my favorites from him on this topic are Alexander the Great and Anubis. I'd recommend checking him out.

24:10 French here, Napoléon "the great" is actually historical! If you read old documents, like the first versions of the Civil Code, Napoléon was presented as "le grand" (the great). But indeed, nowadays this adjective is never used, his name has such an aura that it is no longer necessary :)

2:51, he also mentioned his conquest of Gaul, his becoming dictator of Rome, his affair with Cleopatra, and his being disappointed with the pirates who kidnapped him for charging too low a ransom

Just for context, it's a cypher, not a rap battle, basically they were all just rapping as a historical figure. Rustage is also a massive history fan and he has a few other tracks about historical figures, including one about King Arthur called "The King." And he's also a big fan of ERB himself.

I met Rustage at a convention last year, one of the most down to earth and humble people I've ever met. Love his music
