That was a fun challenge to make ! I tried to be as much objective as I could but it's a kinda impossible actually. I allowed myself to include hard rock only in the 70's because it was the early days of heavy metal and both styles weren't really separated yet.
Ofc it's alright if you disagree with my choices
Ofc not any of these musics are mine.

Master of Puppets being excluded from 1986 is blasphemy.

Excluding Piece of Mind (1983) and Powerslave (1984) seriously calls into question this list.

This list lost all credibility when Master of Puppets didn't even make top 4 albums for 1986!?

Venom's "black metal"better than "The number of The beast" and "Screaming for vengeance"? Seriously?

Los poderosos Budgie y Celtic Frost siempre presentes. Y ver a Tryptikon me dio más alientos paea ponerme las botas metaleras para verlos en concierto.

Walls of jerico. Beneath the remains, agent Orange, speed metal simphony, and justice, Master, entroned darkness triumphant, dusk and her embrance.

Born of Osiris for 2007 was an absolute banger of a choice. One of the most musically stellar albums of all time.

although they are not metal in my definition (but hard rock) but if you include "agents of fortune" by boc you should also include some of the earlier stuff

Try not cutting yourself on the edge by not including Master of Puppets or Justice. Fucking hell man.

Super-interesting list.
I was lucky enough to see Power Trip open for Cannibal Corpse Birmingham Alabama in 2017, supporting that album release. Kickass and fabulous. Too bad the frontman passed.
It's good to see Opus Eponymous get the recognition it deserves.
