In Palmer, Alaska, two sisters acquire a pair of 90-year-old barns to transform into living and community spaces. With the harsh Alaskan winter looming, they must move the barns to a safe place and complete their renovations in only 12 weeks.

Designers, builders and old-home enthusiasts in small towns and big cities across America reimagine and transform abandoned structures by preserving their historical integrity while giving them new purpose.

My late uncle, Paul Smith of Cooper Landing would be so proud of you for saving part of the history. He was THE log home guy in his time.

Both spaces are just so very pretty, Girls. I'm glad you two are thinking the same way about how to restore these historic strutures. 💗

Wow! Definitely "Toot Your Own Horn" on this project. JJ nailed it with the concrete logs. All of your contractors are A1. Thanks for sharing.

Love that you gals saved a part of history and made it part of a new build where these barns can be enjoyed for years to come!

Oh if I was getting married again, I would definitely ask if that barn space was available for the reception! It’s so gorgeous, well done you two x

This is cool, but, using a spiral staircase really limits your customer base. King beds in the main bedroom is always preferred. But the spaces are beautiful!

Did you sell?

I spent a lot of my childhood at my grandparents farm. The barn and small buildings are still there. The owner had nice metal roofs put on. He repainted- I was able to take pictures ❤❤

the hay loft middle light fixture... nope. I would have darkened the doors out to the patio; and darkened the trim.. the lighter trim just seems to make it jumbled looking.
