Beginner Acrylic Painting Lesson | Marigold Study
In this week’s beginner acrylic painting study, we’re painting two stages of a marigold — one flower in full bloom and another that has begun to wind down.
I’ll take you through my painting process, including how I mix all of my colors and make decisions as the painting develops. We’ll look at color, shape, light and shadow, and I’ll show you why I sometimes add something to a painting — and why I may decide to take it right back out!
Colors used:
Cadmium Yellow
Cadmium Red
Hooker’s Green
Mineral Blue
Dioxazine Purple
Titanium White
These weekly studies are designed for beginners and anyone who wants to become more comfortable mixing colors, observing what they see, and making their own choices while painting.
There’s no need to make your painting exactly like mine. Follow along, experiment, and see where your own painting takes you.
Join me every Thursday at 6 PM for a new beginner acrylic painting lesson.
And on Sundays, come back for **Relax & Paint With Me**, where we put some of these ideas into practice in a longer painting.
If you enjoy painting along, please like the video and subscribe to Lex Hem Art so you don’t miss the next lesson.
I use Suno music for background music it is an AI company for creating sound and music.
