I am 87 years old and have had a stent for 13  years. Stent definitely extended my life.

I had a stent put in 11 years ago. I was worn out prior to the operation. The past 11 years have been a bonus, one day at a time .We are all on borrowed time.

My mother had a heart stent inserted at 82; she died at 102 years of age - not from heart issues.  She walked regularly, was positive and had a good two active decades afterwards.  Well worth it!

@ 45 years old last year I had a Massive Widow maker Heart Attack 100% Blockage... I was Rushed to Emergency and 1 hour and 15 minutes from first encounter with EMS I was in ICU recovery from angioplasty  and had a Heart stent implanted. Still recovering but I am alive! Thanks to all the hard working Men and women in the Medical Field, and the Technology.

I'm 76. Had heart attack yesterday. Blood  lot....had Stent Inserted. Home today. Exhausted but alive.

Wow… in other words “he doesn’t know “! My 4 heart stent’s are over 15 years old! Each one saved my life.

I've  had 4 stents  a pacemaker and a 5 bypass in a year and a half time.  That was three years ago and just turned  80.

I am 82 had a widow maker heart attack at age 72 they put two Stents in been doing great for 10 years they do work try to eat right and get exercise they saved my life.

I died on the treadmill. They kindly started my heart 8 times. When I woke up 12 hours after dying, I found out they put in 2 stents .

I had a heart attack during a marathon run and 4 bypasses 4 yrs ago, now I am 80. I feel great and still runs long distance marathon but  moderate heart rate and slower pacing.

I've been living with several stents for almost eighteen years.

I don't appreciate much people that talk heaps without saying nothing!

At age 80 mine placed below my heart for blockage only lasted about 6 months before I had a serious loss of breathing again.. When they did another heart catherization I was 90 percent blocked again at the stent.  My only option was coronary artery bi-pass surgery. A new piece of artery is put in place and sewn into the bottom of one's heart.  It comes from one's upper chest.  They leave the blocked stent in place.  That surgery was done robotically. It is said to be very permanent and significantly life extending more or less to normal. No more blood thinners except baby aspirin.. I am coming up to one year now.  My robotic surgeon had done over 2000 of these replacements. Even though it is done with a robot, it is still a serious operation but a shorter period of pain.  I now ride my bike 6 miles a day again with no breathing issues.  Watch for water in your LEFT lung after this operation.  That sent me back to the hospital for 8 more days.

I inherited 4 stents in 2010, which required me to retire from aviation. Since then I've never been better. No more stress from that job was a huge factor. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

It's in your hands after the stent is put in.What got you having a heart attack needs to drastically change  or you will be back.Do the reseach and find out what is the cause of your clogged arteries.99% of the time it's an external cause.

Stents don't prolong life? I went into the E.R. with some chest pain. After the tests, the E.R. doctor and the cardiologist determined one coronary artery was 80 percent blocked and the other was 95 percent blocked. This was on a Friday and the doctors said I wouldn't live through the weekend. Was transported to another hospital where stents were put into my heart. This was 2015. I never had a heart attack and the pain never recurred. I didn't do cardiac rehab, but exercise as much as I can for a guy getting close to 70, and I try to eat well. I'm on heart meds for AFib that's been with me for decades. So I don't agree stents won't prolong one's life. I would be dead for 7 years had the stents not been installed, but I'm very much alive, thank God.

I am 85 and had two stents in my heart in 2011,feel grate, I walk up to 8-10 km per outing none stop and without losing my deep breathtaking, here is my medication; Aspirin 81 mg, blood thin                  Bisoprolol 5mg, Ramipril 5mg, Atorvastatin 40mg. I am hoping to continue my walks for the next 5-10 years to see my 4 great grandchildren graduate  from Public School, wont  that be grate?

At age 56,  No heart attack.  Just not feeling well and some chest discomfort.  Passed stress test.  Hospital was sending me home.  My wife(RN) strenuously objected.  After consulting with Dr.,  he said that we can do heart cath just so that we can go home with peace of mind.  
I had 99% blockage in my LAD.  Stint saved my life.

Many comments talk about stents and how they can extend or save your life depending on the circumstances or reasons why your doctor decided to install a stent or several stents into your body. As mentioned here if you are experiencing a heart attack and brought to the emergency room like my wife was 5 days ago at the age of 57, they immediately started working on her as she was having a heart attack, she had 3 blocked arteries, one blocked at 80%, the other at 70%, in one they put 4 stints, the other 2 stints and the 3rd they were able to remove the blood clot the cardiologist said, they showed us the actual image of her heart and arteries surrounding the heart and pointing to what looked like spaghetti to us and explaining the area where the blockage is and where the stints were placed. The Cardiologist said there are other areas blocked at 50%and 40% but they do not put a stints in when at these percentages of blockage. Each person is different and when experiencing a heart attack ( not a heart failure ) the heart is not getting sufficient blood supply due to a blockage, minutes and seconds count the longer the heart is starved from blood the more damage it will have, so you can have a heart attack and have 5,10,20,30 % etc... damage to your heart. In my wife's case she was extremely lucky the Cardiologist said her heart did not suffer any damage, it did undergo some stress but because at the first sign something wasn't right with my wife's health condition and that she got to the hospital in time and quickly treated the heart luckily did not suffer any damage. This does not mean she is "out of the woods", life changes will help increase a persons chances of prolonged life, first and most important we were told by the Cardiologist is to immediately stop smoking, he actually told her,.. you have 2 choices, stop smoking now or die. exercise and be active, eat healthy, reduce stress, reduce weight ( 35 lbs in my wife's case), she is currently on blood thinners and baby aspirin along with a few other medications. Cherish each day because you never know if it will be your last.  For the Doctor here on this channel, please correct me if I am mistaken from my understanding of what I was told by our Cardiologist.

My First  "  3  "  Stents Were Put in When I was 45 Years Old .  Now I am  66 Years Old ,  So Right Now They Have Lasted 21 Years Plus !
