I love how Philipp instantly adopted him

“We are looking for Jesus”
Matthew: “Everyone is” 🤨

I am an autistic Christian who was named after Matthew from the bible, so this is freaking me out in the best possible way. It's like some reverse self-fulfilling prophesy or something like that.

Matthew is so chaotic and confused at the world at the same time
He's tooo precious protect him at all costs 🥺🥺✨

Love the way he's so interested in everything around him, even if he is a bit clueless 🥲

The fact that in that one scene he was ready to fight the demon with a spoon 😂😂😂

He’s so relatable tbh.

"You approached a strange home and when the occupant answered, you said i don't know you. Is that being rude?" Genuine question from Matthew

Matthew is so relatable to me it's not even funny... I'm on the autism spectrum and I see a lot of myself in him. I know what it's like to feel like an outcast within a peer group. The scene in season 2, where Matthew is talking to Phillip and he draws a circle on the ground and says that it represents everyone else that he knows and then draws a dot outside the circle and says that the dot it him, symbolizing how lonely and isolated he feels from not only the other disciples, but also the rest of the world... I felt that. That is literally the story of my life.

I'm also in the spectrum, and now it makes sense why it's so hard to understand anything abstract: concept of eternal life, parables, idioms, jokes etc. This series help me visualize and now beginning to understand things I've heard from church since I was a kid. I've never cried this hard before! Praise the only living Savior.

I'm a Christian on the spectrum myself. If I answered the door to someone saying "I don't know you", I would have said "I don't know you either. Bye!" and shut the door.

Mathew: we can survive this

Also Mathew: (grabs a spoon)

Poor summer child. The scene with Thomas at the door kills me every time. 🤣

2:55 has to be the best part of Matthew trying to get Thomas and Nathaniel‘s attention.

its the way he tried to close the door and said everyone is XD

Thomas and Mathew being the same person could also be funny

Matthew is one of my top favorites in this series...and, Simon...and, Jesus, ofcourse.

he really just went and grab the spoon 😭💗 aw my poor child

1:22 Matthew was like: naw she’s taken 😎

There was a scene when he said “I have a friend” (referring to Philip) when he was at his parents’ place 😊 esp knowing that no one likes him cuz he is was a tax collector.

the actor who plays matthew is my favorite, he portrays him so well. nice video! :)
