At the end of the day, even though Daredevil "won" the fight, I love that it pretty much accomplished nothing. They're both in the exact same position as they were before. Kingpin can't beat Daredevil in a fight, but Daredevil can't stop Kingpin through any conventional means anymore. Arrest him? He gets out and starts over. Kill him? Not an option. Beat him up? He always gets back up.
This fight was more about just venting their own frustrations with the situation they're trapped in, than it is about actually trying to end their battle.
From this fight, we can see that Matt accepts Foggy dies and focuses on moving forward while Fisk still cannot accept that Vanessa dies and releases his anger to fight Matt.
This is the only time since Vanessa's death that Fisk spoke back to someone. They both know they are stuck in a stalemate forever. Like Joker and Batman. An unstoppable force vs an immovable object
Fisk smacked the glass shard into Vanessa’s head with his belt, gave her pineapple juice, and tore the Rabbit in a Snowstorm painting. He injured her, killed her and ruined his only tangible memory of her.
We’re not even in the last 2 episodes and they’ve already managed to give us this insane rematch, imagine how crazy the last 2 episodes are going to be, what an absolute masterpiece!
I never thought I see the day daredevil with the DD in the chest fights a white suit kingpin and wins with grappling hooks. It’s a good time to be alive
This is more than a send-off fight. In season 3 finale, they were just raging beasts willing to kill each other. In here, Matt has great control of both his anger, his powers and his moves. While Kingpin... is still Kingpin. The hero reaches his peak, but the villain gets stuck in his rageful roots.
That slow shot at 0:41 where Wilson just looks so confused on what to do anymore. Even he himself didn't know what they were fighting for anymore with Venessa dead and him losing grip on New York.
1:35 Damn Kingpin was going for the death blow there. Good thing Matt moved out of the way. A punch that can break through solid bricks is not a punch that you just easily get up from. That's a different amount of force than the punches he was dishing out prior.
