It's sort of hard to think that both the 1p and £250,000 would both go in the first round in the first ever show.

Glad Noel decided to tuck his shirts in for the rest of the episodes

Not to worry anyone, but the recording of this episode is closer in time to 1984 than it is to the modern day.

I made my RuneScape account 30th October 2005, then this show dropped the next day, what a time to be alive 🤣

There's little doubt that this would have been one of many game shows that would have quickly disappeared into the dustbin of television history with a less charismatic and experienced presenter. Noel is the main reason why DOND has now racked up a two-decade history (notwithstanding a break of some years, of course).

I always watch the original on Dutch television named "Miljoenenjacht" but this version is fun as well. I like this presenter, he's funny.

Back in the day when Noel presented, and the jackpot was a 1/4 of a Millon Pounds...
I've never previously seen this first episode but I did get into the habit of watching this, every day, or as often as I I could, (I think I still had a VHS video recorder functioning, or maybe it was a digital box recorder) I would've been at work ALl day, and would catch up, after the day's work is over; when I got into this. Noel was always on top form, and guided player's flawlessly throughout all those Highs and Lows, in the show. I have seen a few of the newer ITV episodes but a smaller jackpot, moreso no Noel!

I feel like it’s apt that the end of the safest school year of my life (Year 2) and the beginning of one of the most turbulent (Year 3) coincided with Noel Edmonds’ return to the forefront of culture 😂

I wonder when the 1p kiss was introduced. Can't remember it before it was introduced
