After what happened in that heartbreaking episode, no one would ever imagine that 7 days later, Nong Skett would end up winning £250,000 after rejecting a £68,000 offer.
I remember when I first watched this. My mouth was open aghast the whole show. For me the most unbelievable part was after the 14-box offer, only 4 reds and still taking out the next three biggest, you can't even write that
7:358:029:099:34 - £378,005 gone in the opening round. 12:4013:2914:06 - First all-red round, and 7 reds in 8 boxes. 16:3117:3820:33 - The nightmare round; the top three remaining values gone, the second all-red round in a row, and 10 reds in 11 boxes! 24:22 and just like that, all the decent money is gone!
I just stumbled upon this video, and the opening to the show is so bizarre that I genuinely thought it was AI generated. In the early days, I really liked it and watched it often. But it went unnervingly weird after a while, and I found it unwatchable because of the cringe factor. One thing I must say, and I'm going to be careful how I phrase this because I like Noel and don't want to say anything nasty, a noticeable change in his personality occured to him during the years of hosting this show. I find him fascinating, because he seems to have multiple personalities. I'm usually good at reading people, but he is the one who has me stumped. I cannot work him out.
This is rigged. He should have gotten the 50 quid. And the banker looking in the box is cheating. This would never have been allowed to happen in the USA version. Here we have laws against this after the quiz show scandals in the 1950s. You cannot change the rules of the game mid-game. Rules must be finalized before a game begins.
