The Shore Hunter

Join me on Chesil Beach at Abbotsbury for a session of beach fishing using a fixed spool setup, just like 90% of UK anglers! 🎣

In this vlog, I’m testing out the Penn tidal range, putting it through its paces on one of the UK’s most famous fishing beaches. I’ll take you through my rig setup, bait choices, casting tips and of course, show you the successful catch I landed on the day!

Whether you’re new to beach fishing or a seasoned angler, you’ll get an honest look at how this fixed spool setup performs in real conditions at Chesil Beach.

Thank you again for another great video 👍🎣🎣 over the past 2 1/2 yrs I've suffered through ill health, and yours and Gems (missing her vids) videos have inspired me to get back sea fishing, thank you so much 😊 I can now say that I am well enough to get back out there, so next week I will be going fishing for the 1st time in nearly 3yrs, and yes I will be armed with shorehunter bream rigs, long distance rigs and conger/tope rigs. I'm only going to a local beach mark (Walmer castle in Kent) but can't wait to try out my new gear.
Thank you again for inspiring me to get well and get back out there through your videos. Tight lines matey 🎣🎣🎣

Right old beardfest going on, I would suggest going and getting your arm checked, I had issues and ignored them for a while, turns out I had ulnar nerve damage, it can be quite painful, they did offer an operation, but with limited success and the high risk of compartmental pain syndrome, get it looked at early to avoid real discomfort, I had to sleep with splints for months, nice to see Max back on the shingle, tight lines.

I went Abu/Penn multiplers years ago when all my fellow fishermen said i needed to be a proper fisherman and realised the faff and odd birds nest just wasnt worth the hassle. Plus these days fixed spool reals are so much better the distance isnt far off in the real world baited up. Will never go back to multis personally and enjoy my time more without them. Each to their own though :) Only place i prefer to use a multi is on boat....

Hi wayne I hope you're well. I sometimes go fixed spool n my 3 piece rods for a change. It feels so weird after using multiplier s n my 2 piece rods. But ive only fished with multiplier for 5 years and am 53 this year after using a fixed spool since i was 8 . The multiplier helps with my head keeping it medicated wayne lol. All the best from GRIMSBY
