Black lagoon has a suprising number of highly detailed firearms for an anime. I think Johnathan should check it out. Also Studio Ghibli films have a lot of varied and very detailed firearms that have yet to be looked at.

Day 1 of asking how do we get Jonathan into the John Wick game as the gun sommelier

This franchise went from a retired assassin story to a superhero in Taran Tactical commercials

I'd love to see a Guns of 'The Mummy (1999)' episode, there's a bunch of interesting old firearms in that (and also possibly the only movie use of a rifle's magazine cutoff I've ever seen)

"Breaks into credulity's living room and takes a dump its sofa" is a good way of expressing the evolution of the John Wick films.

I wanna see Jonathan cover the guns of Black Lagoon.

To be fair to the movie it is explicitly pointed out that hunting down the members of the high table is utterly pointless (there was a whole movie over how much of a headache taking ONE of them down was and how badly it can backfire) and that no matter how many goons he guns down there will always be a dozen more behind them, the whole point of the movie is trying to force the high table to say 'enough' by using their rules against them as no amount of bullets was going to do it. While shooting the new elder was just John being spiteful. Bit of a surprisingly realistic moment when it turns out that a worldwide organisation of killers who place little to no value on life can't be intimidated or murdered into submission.

I have never been convinced that he's dead. He's "dead" in that the High Table thinks he's dead, and his gravestone is in place, but the dog certainly wasn't sad and the would certainly wasn't lethal. He's retired under a false name, waiting for his identity to be discovered by somebody at the beginning of John Wick 5.

16:29 the Viper from Ballerina is not the first TTI 2011 that John gets, since it takes place after John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, which of course has him use the 2011 Combat Master for the last act. It does canonically come before the Pit Viper from 4, though, as Jonathan correctly states.

As for Jonathan's curiosity towards the Sand Viper and/or a red dot not being used instead in the film, that's actually down to the actor's preference! Keanu Reeves prefers iron sights on his handguns, so the Pit Viper has them instead of a more "modern" or "high-tech" micro red dot.

The amount of TTI guns in the John Wick world implies that Taran Butler is this sort of Hyman Lebman figure, a mass armorer for the mob

Cruelty squad has a lot of very interesting guns based on real prototypes that would be fun to see a reaction to

This movie produced my favourite cinema experience of the year, when he falls back down the stairs at 19:40.
It was a packed screening and the audience went from gaps of disbelief to pained audible wincing to quiet chuckling as we all realised he was going ALL the way down. What a magical moment.

"They may be called the Palace Guard, The City Guard, or the Patrol. Whatever the name, their purpose in any work of heroic fantasy is identical: it is, round about Chapter Three (or ten minutes in to the film) to rush in to the room, attack the hero one at a time, and be slaughtered. No-one ever asks them if they wanted to.

This book is dedicated to those fine men"

Just a week or so before I saw this movie, I was in Paris and had lunch outdoors in a park in Montmartre about fifty feet from those stairs. It was surreal watching John Wick fighting his way up them having just been there days earlier.
