Correcting some misinfo I see in the comments.

IMAX 70mm and IMAX are not the same aspect ratio. IMAX 70mm is 1.43:1 and Digital IMAX is massively cropped at 1.90:1.

The only digital IMAX projectors that are able to play the film in its original 1.43:1 aspect ratio are IMAX GT Laser projectors, of which there are about 40 globally and many are not set to show feature-length films.

The combined total of IMAX 70mm and IMAX GT Laser screens capable of playing The Odyssey in its original 1.43:1 aspect ratio makes up less than 0.01% of all theatres globally.

For those saying that the IMAX limitations didn't affect the runtime, watch his interview with Letterboxd from a month ago at the 6 minute mark. Nolan talks about how his IMAX mentor David Keighley dragged him into the booth "at some point in this film" to show him the final limitation of the 70mm film prints. Only after this did Nolan finally stop making impossible request for workarounds and say: "Okay. I'll stay under three hours.". By Nolan's own admission, he was pushing to have a cut longer than 3 hours, but settled after realizing it wasn't possible within the IMAX 70mm format.
