Denmark surprised me… in ways I absolutely wasn’t expecting.

Nice to see a visitor to Denmark get outside of Copenhagen. So many tourists spend a few days in the capital, eating pastries and seeing the usual sights there and claim to have seen what Denmark has to offer. Denmark is so much more. ❤

I am happy to see someone visit Denmark, and go to other places than Copenhagen. I see so many people go to Copenhagen and talk as if they now know what Denmark is like.

Honestly if you are a tourist that usually doesn't bike, don't try to bike in Copenhagen, its very chaotic..
If you are used to biking, do as you will, just know that it takes a special kind of courage to bike in Copenhagen especially in rush hours! 😂
Also WEAR A HELMET ALWAYS! Also you Danes!! Especially you Danes!!

The Vikings in Aarhus mark the rampart surrounding the Viking village as it would be from the year 900 when the first fortification was made. It's only to be found at 17 spots and each has a board/poster near by explaining about the Vikings in Aarhus or Aros as it was called back then.

One special thing about Cold Hawai is the almost permanent daylight in the summertime and the almost permanent high westerly winds. Surfing is great there but windsurfing is really great, because of these two things.

I am Danish, 83 years old and have lived here all of my life.
When it comes to eating out, it is not only you who is suprised by how expensive it can be.
A beer in a restaurant is ten times more expensive than in a supermarket.
I have had the income of upper middle class - and I have always avoided eating out because of the feeling of being ripped off.
If I travel just south on the border and want to eat our in a German restaurant, the prices are much more affordable.
I do not understand why this is how it is, but we have saved a ton of money by cooking our own food.

The pedestrian lights between Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli Garden have the pantomime character Pjerrot on them (clown-like figure). There is a small Pantomime theater stage inside Tivoli Garden where he appears regularly.

0:47 Fredericia has special ones as well, they look like an 18th century infantryman, marching or standing at attention, in reference to the city's military history and the Landsoldaten sculpture which is the city's mascot.

One of the reasons why Denmark's highest point has changed places several times is that we have never thought it was particularly important. There are of course various professions where determining heights is one of the tasks, but for most Danes it is a bit comical to have to determine the highest point in such a flat country. Regarding the "right of way", you have already experienced quite ordinary Danes pleasantly surprising you by offering their help. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking the owner of a plot of land if you can camp for a day or two :-)

A note on Lindholm Høje: the graves date to the Iron Age — that is, the period immediately preceding the Viking Age.

Some pedestrian lights in my city (Odense) is replaced with HC Andersen, because its the city he was born in

Lindholm Høje is the best sledding spot during the winter.
I remember going there every winter with my parents as a kid and it being completely flooded with people. The hills are amazing for flying down on a toboggan - morbid as it is :'D

I spent the better part of my youth at or around Lindholm Høje. My scouting group had their meeting cabin right next to Lindholm Høje - like 50 meters from it (it no longer exists unfortunately - back when it did, you would have seen it in parts of your footage) - and we would often use Lindholm Høje for activities. As children we also used Lindholm Høje as a hill for "skiing"/toboggan run whenever it snowed. It has a special place in my heart.
