Fun fact, in the books beast resurrects the dead villains and puts them on the island, they have wild lions on their island

Cruella and the fricking evil step siblings are trapped on the isle imagine being trapped in a poor old prison town because your mum wasn’t exactly that nice to dogs or was a mean sister and you are trapped with demons and witches.

In the books the villains actually did die like in their original tales, but King Beast thought that wasn't a good enough punishment so they resurrected all of the villains and banished them to the Isle of the Lost. I don't know what was going on in his brain to think burning in hell for all of eternity was a lesser punishment than being stuck on a island. And Hell does canonically exist cause Hades is here.

I think the heroes got it all effed up because this seems like unnecessary torture. Especially when you factor in the villains kids who are wrongfully being punished. It really boils my blood on how due to this it makes some of the beloved characters look like assholes. Like Snow White and Evie are literal sisters and Cinderella is Dizzy's aunt. I find it hard to believe that Snow White and Cinderella of all people would leave them to the cruelty of their abusers

My greatest problem was how they did Cinderella's son. Knowing Cindy's personality, her children would've never turned out to be brats. That ish pissed me off to no end 😂

I always thougth freeing EVERYONE in the isles was the most stupid idea, even as a kid.

I think the wildest thing about the lore in Descendants is that they would bring villains who canonically died back to life just to throw them in the Isle of the Lost. Not only is it cruel and unusual, it's also stupid because now these dangerous villains are most likely going to want revenge for their previous deaths and their current imprisonment.

They should have did 2 islands, one for women and one for men. That way no children would have been born. Also if it wasn't a Disney movie, it would have been so much worse especially for women being trapped with the worst of the worst of men with no magic to protect them.

It's also stated that they have no fresh food or clothes. Beast just ressurected villains then put them on an island with eachother then only gave them expired food/leftovers.

I honestly want you to check out Ever After High cause one, it came out first before Descendants, and two, it also deals with the descendants of fairy tale characters, but more so wanting to rewrite their own stories and not follow their parents' stories, both for the villains' and heroes' children.

Even as a kid I thought the premise was messed up.

Here's another thing to consider. How they handle magic. Like why retire it when without it a majority of couples wouldn't have met without it and if they're attacked in the future by magic users the next generation wouldn't be able to properly use magic to defend themselves.

Speaking of descendants who still remember Ever After High

It is such a bad name, United States of Auradon. But I don't think it works like the USA, where the President rules above Governors. We don't see the Beast family giving orders to the other royals. My theory, my film theory, is that Auradon is more akin to the United Arab Emirates, where each emirate is ruled by an Emir, essentially a petty king or duke, with the Emir of Abu Dhabi being the first among equals and the ruler of the federation, but he is not really above the other Emirs, he doesn't rule their realms, he rules the union, mostly in foreign affairs and military matters. So, Beast being the King of Auradon doesn't need to mean that the other kings, queens, and princesses lost their ranks or titles.

Belle didn’t get kidnapped, she willingly offered to take her father‘s place as a prisoner to save her father‘s life.

Descendants 2:Some of them will still be bad.Let them in jail!
Descendants 3: Someone outside jail became bad!Let's abolish the jail!
If Descendants 4 was accurate:Everyone bad was left out of jail!We live in anarchy now!

3rd movie was ruined by the ending. "Yeah, let the villains be able to come and go to Auradon if they want"....except...they've been holding grudges for 20 years, and Auradon has access to magic, and they have all the villains' weapons in a perfectly accessible museum. Meaning nothing is stopping the unreformed villains from stealing their magical artifacts back and taking over. Thanks, Mal!

To be fair, they might have considered it cruel to to separate the children from their parents. Also, Beast was picked because he united the kingdoms.

2:53 Wrong, in the descendants universe the villians were simply RESSURECTED from the DEAD thousands of years later, Just so the "heroes" could lock them on an island forever. yes, thats canon google it. I think it was in one of the books that apparently exist.

Honestly, I love this franchise yeah it’s crazy sometimes, but I think that’s part of the reason why I love this franchise so much because it can be crazy sometimes, also I just have a ride for this franchise that could never be replaced with anything
