I served him with the restraining order stating that he remain away from, and no contact to his son.
Normally when we served these as Correctional officer to prisoners, they are put on observation due to the significance of the order.
Archer looked up at me from his bed when I entered, but when I explained the order I was serving on behalf of the courts he just smiled at me and said ‘I know it’s ok. Just put it there’. Then he promptly went to sleep.
He was also placed in protective custody because he claimed a member of Jodi’s family were locked up at the same prison.
He worked in the kitchen and apparently he told the prisoners he worked alongside that he ‘Was sick of Jodi’s shit and she wasn’t taking my kid’.
As for his mum, she just hated Jodi and was quite happy to cover it up for her son.
There was a front page newspaper article where he was front and centre with a picture of him holding his son wearing that exact same jacket he killed Jodi in.
He honestly is a pure example of someone who is Narcissistic beyond belief!

On a lighter note, when my partner and I were fixing up our house, we were pouring concrete in our basement and my mom asked me how it was going, and bc I watch so much true crime, and I've got a dark sense of humor, I told her "well, I can't see her feet anymore!" Thankfully, my mom knows that I have my dad's humor.

I've always told my son that if he ever did anything like this, I'd be the first person to turn him in. I'll always stand beside him, he'll always be my son, regardless of what he's done, but I won't help him hide or run from any wrong doings or mistakes. I've always taught him that it's better to admit a mistake and take the consequences, no matter what he's done. I can't imagine being this type of mother. I get wanting to spoil your kids and make everything bad go away, but they have to take responsibility for their actions, big or small. As his mother, it's my job to help him grow and teach him to be a good person. These two deserved life sentences, and Jody deserved so, so much more.

@debbierosenstein 3 years ago

His mother is definitely responsible not only for helping that monster but also for creating it.

@kimallen3520 3 years ago

I think that piece of trash and his Mom both deserved life without parole. It breaks my heart for that young mother and for her son who will never know her.

It's got to be said I LOVE it when Emma goes in to her little rants with herself 😂.. These 2 who did this to Jody are monsters and they should lose the key to their cells and leave them to rot!!

@michellemcgrath892 3 years ago

Thanks Emma,that disgusting mummys boy and his despicable mother should have both gotten life sentences .thankfully they were dumb enough to bring themselves undone xx

The one thing that pisses me off as an Australian is our piss poor sentencing.. The whole crap of getting 25yrs for murder and classing that as life is just beyond words. No when you murder someone and get life it should mean just that... for the rest of your miserable life and any parole should only be given after serving 40 years

@GenXfrom75 3 years ago

There should be zero parole for murderers like this. Not everyone is capable of rehabilitation. That poor baby boy 💔

I can remember screaming at the tv every time this mother and son were on the news.

Almost cried about the tree. My friend died and their ashes were put into an orb and a tree planted. We stick badges on it whenever we visit. It means a lot having that symbol of a loved one.

@aquarius2287 3 years ago

The fact that Neal knew he could tell his mother what he did & she would help him says it all! What a sick duo these two are! They both deserve life without parole.

I was in this relationship years ago. I was 17 when we got together and said he was 27 (he wasn't, he was 33). He isolated me, told me all my friends were arseholes, made me fall out with my dad and convinced me to stay with him when my mum moved away. To this day my mum victim blames me with 'why didn't you just leave him?' despite me telling her how he would constantly check my text messages, wouldn't give me any space while I was on the phone, and took my wages off me as soon as I got them and gave me a pitiful allowance! I've been split up from him for 16 years now and shortly after calling it off altogether his mother phoned me and ordered me to take him back! In the long run though what hurts the most is being gaslighted with 'why didn't you just leave?' If it were that easy domestic abuse wouldn't be as prevalent. If you ever find yourself thinking why didn't they just leave, you're a cnut of the lowest order! If you've ever been in my situation and someone asks you that, it's not your fault; it never was; it never will be.

Oh that woman and her son. Hard to beat in terms of disgustingness, malice and stupidity.
The poor girl had no chance to escape from this family. And once again I have to say that the legal system in Australia is sometimes a joke.
Looking forward to seeing you Em xo

I get my 2 older daughters to watch a lot of your videos, they are 13+11 and before they watched one of your videos I was a horrible mum because I wont allow them Facebook Snapchat Instagram until they are old enough and they didn't like that we would sit together and id explain everything to them for whatever app it is , and for emergencies id also have their password . But after watching some of your videos my 13 year old said I get it mum I understand now , so thank you but I've now also started a little thing that we all enjoy now listening and watching your videos and crime shows 😂❤.

You're so right, Emma — he CAN'T steal the legacy that was her life and that tree signifies that in such a beautiful way.

@sarahmeyers1886 2 years ago

As Jodys sister I would like to say thank you, your story is the best one I have watched about Jodys life, the facts you have, the amount of research that went into your video thank you.

These narcissists love to control your time when you are away from them. They love to make you miserable. Also, this is the stuff kids should be taught in school. How to avoid losing your agency in any relationship. Let’s write a curriculum!

@tamaradargusch5413 3 years ago

I had forgot that I saw this story back when it happened until I saw the interview of Margaret pretending to cry. Then it all can back to me.

@elizabethle221 3 years ago

Yes Emma, this happened to me being with a man who did this for over 15 years, till I left because I wanted to kill him. He convinced my children it was all my fault, and so I am estranged from my 3 children. He was totally disrespectful to me and 2 of my children followed his behaviour. I am just happy to have peace in my life now. I am studying creative writing at Uni and put all my thoughts into being creative and get some relief from writing about my experiences, in all genres of writing. Cheers Emma, I love your expertise in psychology to tell these stories in a respectful way to honour victims and warn others of red flags to get them away from being a victim. I ignored these red flags.......low self-esteem etc.
