I bought a Canon 1Ds Mark II for just £90.
The catch? It was being sold as faulty, with the seller reporting a lens connection error. Considering these cameras can still sell for several hundred pounds, I had absolutely no idea whether I'd just bought myself a bargain...or a very expensive paperweight.
But when it arrived, it powered on straight away, the shutter worked perfectly, and it seem to be in every way...faultless.
Three months later, I've been using it for everything from motorsport to concert photography, and it's quickly become one of my favourite cameras to shoot with.
In this video, I take a look at the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, what it's like to use a professional DSLR from 2004 in 2026, the image quality, autofocus, handling, and whether this 20+ year old camera is still worth using today.
