Bakker Bart is nieuw to NS stations; they used to be something else ("Bakwerk", I believe) and that was better, IMO.

I hate that Bakker Bart replaced Backwerk. They’re still in the Rotterdam metro stations but obviously a place at central station is a big ‘get’ for a chain. Bakker Bart has been around for ages in cities and their saucijzenbroodje XXL used to be my favourite go to high school food but they got taken over by an investor and now it tastes like cardboard.

Really into the Focaccia Carpaccio Truffel at Julia’s the past couple of weeks. Expensive though! Not food related, but what’s with all the Victorias Secret stores at stations these days. Who’s buying lingerie at Rotterdam Centraal 😂😂

Next: the best food in Dutch BBQ parties. Yes, this is a invite. Dutch/Greek family in Zwijndrecht. Do it.

I work at the Julia's and we have a timing system where we have to get the pastas, breads and coffees out in a satisfiable amount of time. Pastas need to get out in under 5 minutes (I can do it in 90 seconds when it is not busy, when we're understaffed and extremely busy sometimes it takes 7min unfortunately). Breads go out under 3 minutes. Coffee doesn't have a specific time but preferably under 3 as well, I believe. We are the only NS retail location that steams the milk manually :) we always have a lot of NS train drivers and other service employees to come to our location. Black coffee is the no. 1 favorite under NS employees, cappuccino on second. I think they like our coffee best because the Illy beans are so good, and we make the coffee all manually :) I do think the quality of the coffee and pasta varies vastly on what employee is making it, how experienced they are and how busy it is.

The kaasbroodje is my favorite thing to get from Kiosk 😊

Best Smullers snack is the SateKroket from the automatiek, it's fast, and even if you're unlucky enough to pull out a lukewarm, at least the spices still make it taste acceptable

Hema is also on Schiphol Airport, very good when returning from a trip and you desperately want a Hema Broodje Rookworst. Other thing I recommend is the Hema Hotdog. The Fries from Smullers are quite good for station food standards. I think the Döner-stuff at Dutch stations is below par. In Germany this is soooooo much better.

The carbonara style pasta with penne and some spring onions as topping is my favourite at Julia's.

I worked for about three years at the Smullers in Groningen and it was one of the funnest jobs I ever had. The fries, I thought weren't half bad, I liked the Remia saté saus, the Saté kroket was good. The meatballs though, were a biohazard.

I like the ‘kaasbroodje’ from the AH Togo. It’s the best of the worst

since you guys tried the pastrami you guys might want to check out the broodje halfom or broodje pekel / lever as well its a iconic dutch sandwich served at van dobben and at the butchers chain verkleije :D

You guys should try some immigrant cuisines in The Netherlands. Some Indonesian, Moroccan, Surinam and Turkish food.
