Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) breaks into a hospital disguised as a janitor to find clues on the one handed man when a Doctor asks him to take a little boy, Joel, to a room. Dr. Kimble (Harrison Ford), being the genius doctor he is, realizes that Joel has been misdiagnosed and needs immediate life saving surgery. Dr. Richard Kimble disobeys the doctor's orders, and risks getting caught to make sure Joel lives while U.S. Marshall Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) still hunts him.

About The Fugitive (Release Date: August 6, 1993):
Nominated for seven Academy Awards, including "Best Picture," this 1993 box-office blockbuster is as compelling today as when it first stormed into theaters.

Harrison Ford and Oscar-winner Tommy Lee Jones race through this breathless manhunt movie based on the classic television series of the Sixties. Ford is prison escapee Dr. Richard Kimble, a Chicago surgeon falsely convicted of killing his wife and determined to prove his innocence by leading his pursuers to the one-armed man who actually committed the crime.

Jones, who also picked up the Golden Globe, is Sam Gerard, an unrelenting bloodhound of a U.S. Marshal. They are hunted and hunter. And as directed by Andrew Davis, their nonstop chase has one exhilarating speed: all-out.

So catch him if you can. And catch an 11-on-a-scale-of-10 train wreck (yes, the train is real), a plunge down a waterfall, a cat-and-mouse jaunt through a Chicago St. Patrick's Day parade and much more.

Better hurry. Dr. Richard Kimble doesn't stay in one place very long!

OSCAR WINNER:
Best Supporting Actor - Tommy Lee Jones

As a kid growing up, this very scene impressed me so much and inspired me to become a physician. I graduated 17 years after the release of this masterpiece.

Such a beautiful scene. The guy is hiding for his life but can't resist to follow his calling to be a doctor. The look on Ford's face when observing the boy's plight is a master class in acting.

I like how Dr. Kimble's signature on that medical procedure order is totally illegible. That way the staff will know that the order is 100% genuine and should be acted on.

Whoever's idea it was to start this trend of full movie scenes (and not those awful edits). Thank you.

If Kimble hadn’t put his own ass on the line to save that kid, Gerard probably wouldn’t have suspected that he was innocent

And to think the writers had originally wanted a love subplot between Kimble and the doctor lady. They even filmed it (at least in part). Thank God they decided against it because it would have felt incredibly out of place in a film about a guy still mourning his wife’s death and trying to find her killer.

These scenes make all the difference in this movie. As it gives us an insight as to the kind of person Kimble is.

“Bye-bye, Joel.”

We know Kimble is not a killer and out to prove he’s innocence. But it was cool seeing him save lives, this little boy and the guard on the bus in the beginning.

We already know Richard is innocent, is the good guy, but it helps to toss in a scene like this to make him more than just an innocent victim.

To think that Kimble wouldn’t have been there to save the kid’s life if he wasn’t a fugitive.

I love how he’s trying to get out of the hospital after she calls security and he still says excuse me to the person he bumped into going down the stairs 😂.

I could watch this movie over and over again. Never gets old. One of my all time favorite scenes in any movie

Love Kimble's "signature"

Who's gonna just stand there after hearing "Call security!!!"

Siskel and Ebert talk positively about Tommy Lee Jones as an evolving charactor. He changes the way he feels about the fugitive over the course of the movie. How he does it is not in plain dialogue but in subtle motions, a pause, a thoughtful glance sideways. He's a great actor.

4:29 - You can almost see Gerard suddenly wondering if he's really on the side of the angels.

This was totally an element of the original series, Kimble helping others while on the run, often risking capture in the process. The Fugitive is just perfect in every way. And to think some of the cast thought it would bomb.
