I giggle when some fans comment "omg they're the standard for vocals!" or "they're so stable!" and they're clearly lip-syncing or backtracks

NMIXX is becoming more confidence and comfortable with their singing. In Dash comeback, they literally tone-down the backtrack and you can clearly see when someone is not singing some parts as if they are literally saying, "yep we dont sing that one" thus some of their audio can be heard up and down.

Idc if the Kpop idols have vocal cracks when they sing live, if they have a bad moment when they're singing over backtrack, THEY'RE SINGING LIVE

People don't really care if known vocal groups (example: MAMAMOO, SNSD, BTOB, EXO, SHinee, SEVENTEEN, NMIXX) lipsyncs since they already fed people a lot of live performances and acapellas that everyone knows what their vocal capabilities are.

I actually don't consider a performance  "live" if the backtrack is too loud that you can't hear their voices. I don't see the point why they turn their mic on at all.

Old SM chorographers made sure to give the main singer their moment to perform tricky and hard notes, they would show that even in the dance practice videos, e.g Taeyon in Genie and Jonghyun in Lucifer

The best thing with Mamamoo that they designed most of their performances so no one force them to do anything and you can always see how much they enjoybthe stage. Like that fancam of Solar - she was geting high on the music just as much as we were

When it comes to lipsynching, I think more companies should go the Beyonce route. She's so seamless with it, a lot of her fans are convinced that she sings live ALL the time. She's also very strategic with the placement, so a song will have both live and prerecorded vocals, which can be very confusing to figure out. I think she also always incorporate live adlibs, so when she does almost a full song of lip sync a la "single ladies" people are thrown off, because she speaks to the audience, so it always feels live.

I love the use of Dash, Run For Roses, and Party O’Clock’s instrumentals! If you haven’t listened to the Run For Roses 360 version yet I highly recommend it, it’s amazing!

But seriously my opinion is that at Award shows the idols MUST sing live. I mean you're receiving an Award for your talent ffs, or alternatively have been nominated for one. So PROVE it! As for when on Tour they can use back track 50% of the show, and live singing 50%. Especially if it's a looong worldwide tour, like Blackpink last year 😢
