Me too. Ever since he stopped flinging himself out of giant slingshots to hit green pigs, it hasn't been the same. 😔

Everyone else caught up to the fireball driverush meta

Watching him play Akuma or god forbid Ryu just isn't exciting like he was on Ken.

Despite all the nerfs and addition of much stronger and honestly, dumber characters. I still really love playing as Ken. I love the way he can get results by being just the right amount of patient and agressive. I can imagine the same case for Angrybird.

1:04 Mario party ahh character

AngryBird isn’t the only case. There are several players who, despite being very competent, just don’t really fit well with certain games or characters. Bonchan is a good example.

He said though that he had an advantage because Ken from SF5 played very similarly to SF6 if i remember correctly.
He was honest...he said he realized that there was a gap and that he either had to win it then or he might never win it.

I agree.  I'd love to see AngryBird on Terry.  I think it fits his playstyle.

Eu também sinto falta desse angrybird...

Volatile-ass game that's specifically made for players to never be able to be consistent at.

One day you're EVO champion, the other you drown in pools against some nobody just because you were forced to guess wrong twice.

Nah. Eff that. Discredit every single Ryu player who wasn’t maining or pocketing him in previous games, or season 1 of sf6. Ken is fine and doesn’t need buffs. Stop that suggestion. Angrybird is great.

Angrybird’s issue is partly because of the game mechanics. Specifically, the drive gauge recovery when successfully tech’ing a throw. The most ridiculous and most unnecessary system mechanic change with the greatest impact. A character like Ken wants to mix and counter hit you into submission. Exactly how you described ABs playstyle. But what happens when you wiggle your opponent down and place them into a corner with low resources? They guess right on the throw tech and gain a bar of drive gauge instantly. That means all the hard work you put into punishing their mistakes or chipping away at their gauge was for nothing. That means your win condition of forcing burnout is gone. That’s not a Ken issue made directly to affect him, but it does affect the character a lot more than most. The more time you spend on Ken trying to force burnout, the more opportunities these players have for a perfect parry comeback.

Which leads to my second point. Everyone has grown and adapted to Ken. For the longest Ken was easily, if not still is, top 3-5 most played characters, with him being by far the number one most played by the end of season 1. So many how to beat Ken videos. So much footage of players playing him and learning tech to beat him. It’s not that Angrybird or others have lost their touch with Ken, but more so the character was on everyone’s most practice against list. But the character is still good. AB just needed to be like Noah and Dual Kevin, and not give up on their character.

I think overall AB should play Ken. As a pro and a player in general, he needs to man up and not run from his demons and learn his worst matchups until they are his best match up like every other specialists. He has had his fun vacation away from the character in pro play. Capcom is not going to make the game less idiotic. So he needs to hone his own ability to outplay other PLAYERS and stop losing trying to beat the SYSTEM.

Keep in mind that there is a grey cloud hanging over early tournament wins given that the cracked beta provided a major advantage to certain players. Once everyone caught up, certain players started dropping down.

I've heard people claim that Angrybird was playing on a cracked beta which is why he had such an early start and success. I don't know if that's been confirmed. Granted, many other top players were also playing on cracked betas.

AngryBird won SFL Europe 2025 with Akuma for NIP, pretty much by shutting down EndingWalker in the finals. If you remember, this was the SFL where EndingWalker went insane on Ryu: he had a 100% set winrate (10-0) and lost only 6 games across all those sets, an 82% game winrate. AngryBird stepped up in the finals and was the NIP player who beat EndingWalker and prevented Mousesports from winning that SFL.

I'm not sure if you didn't mention this tournament in the video because it isn't a solo event or because it doesn't fit the narrative.

AB said it himself at SFL, he was playing Ryu but he said he didn't "feel the same connection" with Ryu....which is like saying he likes to think about his decisions instead of...well you know how most Ryu mains are😅

"Are you okay!!?!?? AB?!?"  🧢

Tbh I think that even though everyone talks about characters feeling "samey" in SF6, at the very highest level you do notice how experience and being comfortable with a character almost trumps everything, the best players like Leshar or Mena or Kakeru at the end of the day they kept on playing and winning as much as possible with their "favourite" characters, and results show that when a character is strong they do get results more often than changing main, just take a look at noah that won his first major the moment luke got even slightly buffed

'Too many strong players' Brother, the game is simply so volatile the ceiling between the truly top players and the average joe has been brought so far down its tragic. Being regarded as good in this game doesnt mean anywhere near as much.

Firstly, the advantage of getting a head start on the game by six months has been neutralized;
secondly, the Japanese scene is far more mature than other regions when it comes to esports infrastructure of FGC.
The longer this drags on, the more it favors Japan.
While competitive scenes in other regions are mostly carried by a few talented individual players, Japan's scene has already been fully institutionalized.

Naa who I really miss is Marisa big bird I miss Marisa bird 🫩😥

It's capcom... Angry Birds is holding on to Ken he's a little rusty but until capcom properly balance & buff characters appropriately, they took away some of Ken's good frame traps to help him open up some characters that love to crouch block & jab.... Jinrai is at weird  spot... UNLIKE RYU's Hasho... Jesus.... And apparently everyone was supposed to get new moves, something like v-skill at some point so far we just they gave us new  combo routes
