Coming soon: A full head-to-head against my daily driver…stay tuned 👀

cheers for the honest review this brilliant car deserves

Had a Merc CLA for 3 years after years of Audi’s. So many issues with the Merc, including new engine after 6 months and poor local dealer service. Now back to my preferred Audi. An A3 SLine with 150 Bhp petrol. Much happier! Very classy inside and out and much more economical to run. I won’t be going back to Mercedes any time soon

Defiantly looking to purchase either S3 or A3, I've have A A200 ( 72 plate ) for 2.5 years, i've had nothing but trouble and I will glad to see the back of it. ( new waterpump, overhead module, multiple warning messages, engine light on 7 times, alarm falsely activating , poor bluetooth connection & multiple software updates to resolve some of these issue )

Audi A3 is one of the best cars. Good for city driving and also for highway. I prefer the design of the previous generations.

I picked my 25 plate in Daytona grey up last week after having 19 plate a3 saloon and have to say this is a dream to drive 👌🏻

I was hesitating but this review convinced me. This will be my next car 😊

Hi Nick, Nice review. I’ve got a 2023 A250e saloon and my wife has a 2022 Audi A1 S-line auto with the 150 ps petrol engine. We’ve had a number of Audi’s but the Mercedes is a first for us. The interior of the A1 is pretty much identical to the A3 apart from the driver side face vents being high up on either side of the instrument pod. You mentioned the suspension being a bit firm, S-line models have stiffer ‘sport’ suspension. Interiors of newer Audi’s have more hard scratchy plastics than before but still seem to be screwed together well with no annoying little rattles or buzzes (wish I could say the same about my A Class!). The sat nav (particularly the mapping) isn’t as good as in the Mercedes (by the way you could have filled the virtual cockpit in the A3 with the sat nav screen).  I think Mercedes MBUX and especially the voice control is way better than in the Audi. The steering wheel buttons on the Audi are way better than the awful haptic touch sensitive ones on the Mercedes steering wheel - so bad I tend not to use them. My wife’s A1 has the Sonos sound system and personally I’ve not been that impressed with it. My A Class is the Premium Plus model and the sound system in that is extremely good. You also mentioned the range of the PHEV A3 variant contrasting it to the A Class. Audi have recently upgraded the battery. In the current warmer weather I’m seeing 55 miles on a charge in my A Class. In the winter it’s around 42/43.

Great review! All the important areas covered I look for in reviews

I really enjoyed your video, Nick! I purchased a similar car to the one you tested back in March; A3 S-Line in Navarra blue, but with 1.5 150bhp in manual. Previously, I had a mark 7.5 Golf with similar engine/transmission set up which was also lovely car.  One of the reasons I didn't look to get another Golf was because of no physical buttons and I find this dangerous.  As you pointed out, the A3 still has physical buttons.  I have to say, purchasing an A3 was a good choice for me, I love it.  I still wanted a manual transmission and again as you pointed out, the A3 is now the only offering in this segment (other than the Golf) which I think is very sad and another example of choices being taken away from the customer. All the best!

Great review and insights on the car, thank you for this video as it really sealed the deal for me on pulling the trigger on this car, expected delivery in around 3 months.

I got the 35TFSI S line in this exact Navarra Blue Metallic with the Audi Phone Box, Cockpit Plus and Audi Sound System extras, I think it will be a great and comfortable daily car for me that I will also enjoy driving during the weekends as well!

Thanks for the detailed and useful video. I have been looking into getting one of these and will be ordering one as long as the test drive goes well 😀

I’ve had my A3 S line Saloon, (same Navara Blue), 1year, it’s the 1.5 cc automatic with the tech pack. (Which I added after purchasing, bought through the MMi screen). Love the car, best car I’ve owned. Fast reliable, comfortable on a long drive and has the bang and o’ sound system which is fantastic.. great review, keep it up! 👍

Great review. Got a 2021 DS7 petrol atm thinking of getting the hybrid A3.

Just recently got a CLA SB and came from a 2016 Golf GTI and this a3 is too similar to its cousin, even with it being a 2025 model you still see some parts from a 10 year old car, the MB is just such a better place to sit in. Though can’t go wrong with a VAG imo if you want an all rounder.

Hehe just like you're dad I've driven an Audi A3 Sportsback since 2009, here in Norway. The worst problem is rust as we have lots of snow and ice on the roads that gets salted. But other then that not a single problem, motor runs like a clock. Changed the battery once. Upgrading this week to a new A3 because it's the best cars ever 😊🙏

Great review. You liked the dynamic mode, didn't you? ⚡😊

Nick … Great review of the Audi…the diesel engine always had great torque and pick up. The build quality is always especially good … I had 2 S3 before my Mercedes and I loved them 🚀👍

ORdered one a couple of weeks ago, we pick up this Friday and ive genuinely never been excited to get a new car, we gone for the A3 S Line Auto, 150 Petrol with the tech pack, my first brand new car at 45 years old.

You can’t compare the quality of new audi to your old 8P Audi a3, they were solid! New ones are cheap plastics & piano black which scratches, just not the same :(
