Even though I know how to clean my Blackstone, I still watch every single "How to Clean Your Griddle Top" video that pops up in my suggested feed, just in case there is a technique that I have missed.  You never know.

I did everything……water, towels, etc, then my chef buddy gave me the simple answer: scrape the debris after cooking……then coat with oil….thats it….works perfectly

My frustration with griddle cooking is that, technically, the cleanup needs to happen as soon as the food is off and the burners are still on. Meanwhile the fam is inside enjoying a hot meal. Not a fan of cold food, especially eggs.

Thanks for another great video! I think many people worry too much about cleaning a griddle, it's not hard or take much time.

When I was in college, my work study job was in the main cafeteria kitchen. Friday night was burger night. The average was 7-9 cases of burger patties. The guy who managed the kitchen instructed me to dump a big scoop of crushed ice on the griddle to lift off and clean the fried on food particles and grease. But... BUT!  It was a commercial stainless steel griddle and the griddle top was 1" to 1.25" thick so not much was going to warp or damage it.

I own a Blackstone griddle and it would completely warp and wreck it if I dumped ice on it. Johnny's right! Only squirt a small amount of room temperature water on the griddle for cleaning.

Seriously, you're awesome and have great humor as well. The videos of Blackstone teaching/ techniques are not only simple but thorough, answering all questions.  I depend on you, buddy, for my learning of Blackstone. So glad I found you.

side note. i 100% agree. blue scotts towels for cleaning ( soaks up everything lol) plain white towels for oil

Cleanliness is Godliness. I'm new to griddling (less than 4 months) and I can honestly say, the overwhelming majority of information I've gotten regarding recipes, cleaning, gridding, etc., I've learned from your channel, Johnny. Thank you and keep them coming!

A problem I have, when I scrap food or grease off the griddle when cleaning, I remove small chunks of seasoning.

Many years ago when I worked at Wendy’s we started with pickle juice to clean the griddle then use water.
