Drivelapse video following several highways through the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), featuring the Gardiner Expressway through Downtown Toronto.

The video starts by following Highway 410 south from Brampton and then heads east and south along the 401 and 427 to the Gardiner Expressway. East of Downtown, the video follows the length of the Don Valley Parkway before heading back east on the 401 through Scarborough and Durham Region.

I like how the DVP and Gardiner use the same type of lane markings found on Quebec autoroutes. Also very fun drive!

The Gardiner through downtown Toronto has to be one of the most beautiful expressways to drive on at night in the world! Amazing video.

The Gardiner is still under construction to this day. Traffic during World Cup days will be insane.

My girl & I are gonna do this drive tonight. Except we'll be leaving from Markham, so we'll be taking the 407 directly to the 427....& taking the 404 back instead of the 401. The 401 through North York literally gives me PTSD lol 🫠

You haven't created night driving tours for a while. Nice job on the video

Nice!

Imo, night time is the best time of day to do constructions without disturbing traffic too much

With the Gardiner and DVP being transferred to the provincial government, I wonder if they'll officially redesignate the DVP as the 404? Will they assign a 400-series number to the Gardiner (similar to how the QEW is Highway 451)

MTO has done a pretty good job at modernizing the 401 in Durham. Hopefully, they can bring this same energy to upgrading the DVP and Gardiner (although the new viaduct is quite nice tbh) when they take over those highways next year.

Looks like you passed Rogers Centre during Game 7 of the World Series.

Was the EB 401 Express closed?

Is this footage from this year?

At 2:38 in the video, you passed a very short UPS trailer being pulled by a very large yellow tractor truck. Most UPS trailers you see on the highways are very long and pulled by very large tractor trucks while some UPS trailers you’ll see are very short and, because of that, are being pulled by small tractor trucks. Now, Asphalt Planet, please tell me how rare it is for you to pass a very large tractor truck pulling a very short trailer on the highway in Ontario, Canada, and why some tractor trucks you see are very large and some tractor trucks you see are small!
