Why is no one talking about Bones…?
In this video, I’m deep-diving into why Bones might actually be one of the most underrated comfort shows ever — and why it deserves to be in the same conversation as Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Law & Order.
I’m currently watching Bones for the first time (no spoilers past season 6!!) and I have THOUGHTS.
This show has everything:✨ slow burn romance✨ found family dynamics✨ murder mystery / case-of-the-week structure✨ 12 seasons of pure bingeable content
…but somehow it’s been left out of the “comfort show canon” and I genuinely don’t understand why.
In this video:
• Why Bones is the ultimate comfort show• The addictive “case of the week” formula (aka the Scooby-Doo effect)• Booth & Brennan’s painfully good slow burn romance• The Jeffersonian team and why the found family dynamic carries the show• Why it’s been overlooked compared to other 2000s procedural shows• The flaws (because yes… we need to talk about them)
If you love:
• slow burn romance that actually builds tension• character-driven shows disguised as “easy watching”• nostalgic 2000s TV• comfort rewatches that make you feel something
…this might be your next obsession.
This channel is all about deep-diving into the media we become obsessed with — from iconic 2000s shows to books, movies, and the stories that shape us.
Let’s talk in the comments:

The way Zack's character was written for the seasons 2 and 3 finales was due to Eric Milligan's struggle with rapid-cycling biploar disorder, and the show's willingness to work with him to give him time when he needed it.
What's more, the way they did it (neither fully replacing him nor killing him off)--part of it was the lampshaded brilliance of "there's no replacing Zack (Eric)" and instead just finding someone to help out...but it's also that the show runners told Eric he would always have a place there. * as I sob quietly in the corner *
What's more, as Zack was/is a fan favorite, the fans were ABSOLUTELY BESIDE THEMSELVES about the season 3 finale, and not in a good way.
Buuuut, because Eric wasn't ready to go public with his issues, the show just took the heat, and refused to explain why they did it (at first).
I like to think that the degree to which the "squintern rotation" turned out to be successful was the universe smiling on Bones' crew--their choice to be good to Eric Milligan brought them, well, not ** instant ** karma, but a very good karmic reward.
