I didn't know Deer Mike and Al's Brain were lost media. They just showed up one day in my recommended.

Tinsletown is basically what you get if you mixed the muppets with bojack horseman

I'm sad Deer Mike didn't become a Disney XD cartoon, but Chris Savino wrote it so I understand why it wasn't picked up...

Fun fact one of the shorty mc short shorts cartoons actually did become a cartoon, but on a completely different network (the hub)

3:41 Fish Hooks has presumably two pilots. The second pilot was already found in 2024. The one of the lost media wiki is the partially found first pilot from 2007-2008

Never thought I would see YuriofWind mentioned in this channel

19:36 even better, since virtual boy NSO was also available on the original nintendo switch, people with a modded console were able to rip the original roms from the service and preserve them online indefinitely. the service is bound to shutter EVENTUALLY, so it's awesome that we don't have to worry about that possibility anymore.

You already know if Deer Mike was picked up there'd be a whole lot more pooltoy furries

The first case is interesting because there's something similar in Latin America.
Jetix (a Disney-owned TV channel that almost always aired old shows) aired a show called “Los Cortitos de Tito Cortito” (in other words, it has a pun similar to “Shorty McShort Shorts”).
and the concept was similar: airing shorts. Before this show, they used to air the Pucca shorts during commercial breaks (not to be confused with the full series with dialogue, I’m referring to the series of silent shorts).
I think the most striking thing about that show is that it aired the Shaun the Sheep shorts before Shaun the Sheep got its own full series many years later.

Another striking thing is that they didn't use the opening sequence from “Shorty McShort Shorts” and translate it.
Instead, Jetix created a completely new one with a new character, though the concept was similar, a short character wearing a cap and riding a train.

I have no idea if everything that aired there has been lost, since I didn't look into it.

I'm curious to where you heard Tinseltown only aired once. It didn't. It was a space filler on LOGO a lot. I used to watch LOGO all the time in my 20s, especially late at night, and it came on more than once. I actually remember it being pretty often on late night. It was also on the LOGO website and even youtube for a time way way way back in the day. I think for a time, even officially. And Muppet fans just have always been very on the pulse of what was going on with new things from the Hensons but especially back then when things were barren for Muppet content. And just the fact that a lot of queer people are into puppetry, especially The Muppets. I'm shocked it actually took this long to resurface, because I remember it being so easily accessible for so long. I would search youtube, dailymotion and archive from time to time because I figured it'd just get dropped on there unceremoniously, so I was never really sad there wasn't a search for something so beloved to me. But that's why I remember it airing often so vividly, LOGO at that time was really important to my queer awakening.

Either way it was a very nice surprise this past Pride when I checked the Lost Media Wiki randomly and saw it had been found again.

surpised how sushi pack never appeared in this video or the one a few months ago since it became found media somewhat

The more I think about this, the stranger the whole situation gets. I can see a few possibilities for how the “Blam!” pilot ended up online. One possibility is that someone legitimately had an old production copy from the 90s, possibly through someone involved with the production or music side, and eventually digitized it. Another possibility is that whoever was running the Toasters archive channel accidentally uploaded it without realizing that they had a previously unknown Nickelodeon pilot. The third possibility is that this was an unauthorized copy/leak that someone knowingly or unknowingly put online.

What really makes me lean toward the accidental/unauthorized theories is what happened afterward. From what was said in the video, the pilot itself wasn't simply deleted by the uploader. The entire YouTube channel was terminated by YouTube. And apparently Nickelodeon/Paramount generally doesn't just nuke an entire channel over one copyrighted video, instead taking the more basic route of getting the specific video taken down. Obviously we don't know what YouTube's actual reason for the termination was, so I don't think it's fair to say “Nickelodeon definitely got the channel terminated,” but the fact that the entire account disappeared instead of just the pilot is definitely interesting.

If this really was an unauthorized leak, there are also multiple ways it could have happened. It doesn't necessarily mean someone broke into a Paramount archive and stole the master. This was 1995, so physical copies were being made and passed around for production, review, music, etc. A copy could have escaped the production environment decades ago and eventually been digitized. On the other hand, if Nickelodeon had already digitized the original tape into its modern archive, there's also the theoretical possibility of a much newer digital copy getting out. We just don't know where the chain actually started.

The Toasters connection makes the whole thing even more interesting. The band was genuinely involved with the music of KaBlam!, so it's completely plausible that someone on the music side could have had access to production material. But that doesn't necessarily mean Nickelodeon specifically sent The Toasters this pilot in 1995. It could have gone to another person involved with production, or the copy could have changed hands multiple times over the years.

And then there's the fact that the actual slate says “BLAM!”, “Pilot,” 24:57, 3/15/95. That's pretty strong evidence that this wasn't someone simply finding an old KaBlam episode and giving it a misleading title. Whatever copy surfaced, it contained genuine-looking 1995 production material.

If the uploader knowingly had a literal lost Nickelodeon pilot, I'd also wonder why they didn't make a huge deal out of it. No giant “LOST KABLAM PILOT FOUND” announcement, no attempt at recognition, just apparently uploading it among old Toasters material. That makes me wonder if the person didn't actually realize what they had, or if they knew exactly what it was but didn't want attention drawn to where the copy came from.

Obviously this is all speculation, but I think the biggest mystery isn't even “why did Nickelodeon remove Blam?” It's how did this exact copy get into that channel's hands in the first place, and what caused YouTube to terminate the entire account rather than just removing the pilot? If we could figure that out, we'd probably get a much better idea of whether this was an innocent archival upload, an accidental leak, or something much more deliberate.

deer mike would’ve gone SO HARD on adult swim ngl

TMNT 2003 has a fully animated workprint of an unreleased episode.

Honestly I'm glad that at project dream is preserved

Dream looks absolutely INSANE for a SNES game, holy shit.

The original acetate soundtrack for a semi lost film called Sailor and the Devil was recently found and digitized. You should cover that in your next video.

That Muppet Pig was in a Muppets Christmas Special, I'm pretty sure. It was just a cameo appearance, but he was there.

Dream land of giants! Yessirrrrr

3:36 That's not the Shorty McShort Shorts Fish Hooks pilot (which was called Fish Tales btw), that's the full length pilot from around 2009 (which was leaked afew years ago).
