My dreamboat is a ketch, but there is very scarce content about that kind of rigg, this was very educational, entertaining while also straight to the point, thank you so much!

Anything with or about a ketch, I will watch.

Mizzen stay sails are cool, but have you looked at a mule sail? It is in the same area but far superior to the mizzen stay sail 1) can tack/jibe with it up 2) doesn't block any wind from main or head sails 3) doesn't block forward visibility at all 4) incredibly easy to deploy.

Mule + asymmetric spinnaker = heaven

if it looks weird for how it is rigged, it's because the sheet goes to the top of the mizzen, which is an odd thing to imagine at first

Great video, I just wish that you were wearing a lifejacket.

Could you put the Mizzen Sray Sail on a roller furler and tack it midline on deck behind the Main Mast?
When tacking just furl the stay sail; drop the furled sail on deck: complete the tack: re-hoist the furled sail; and unfurl. this would, of course, require two sheets as with a jib.

I have a Pearson 424, on the backside of my main mask I have a stainless steel cable that runs all the way down lots of slack on it, it's about a quarter inch stainless steel cable, does anybody know what this cable is for, my rigger does not know what it was used . So I guess I'll just take it down.

How is the halyard? Does this come out of the mizzen mast on the aft of the mast, or you you have a line coming out of the mizzen mast in the front of the mast? Thanks for your great content.

My ketch (1942 Alden, great circle. Design 550) does not show a mizzen staysail on the sail plan. Should I fit one anyway?

Great video. Just a tip: you don’t need to raise your voice even when the camera is far away. You’re wearing a microphone, so just use your inside voice.

Wouldn't you just be able to set two sheets on either side of the mast to avoid having to strike the mizzen staysail?

So, you have two halyards on your mizzen mast?

I too have twin backstays from the main mast. Have you had any chafe issues with the luff of the sail rubbing the backstay? Also, have you tried attaching the tack of the sail to the leeward gunwale to see if that helps get the sail around the backstays? Just a thought, I wont have a chance to experiment for a least a month.
