Hi Dave here I'm from Nelson, have been a hunter awhile however only in the past 4-5 years have had a major bug and got into it with a passion, had an injury many years to my leg not that it stops me much, have always  wanted to do some big missions which I have done ie wimper hut and Stan's hut in the haast region, watching you guys hunt and the way you go about your hunts r a true inspiration for me not only the hunt the fact you mention past and present hunters, cherish the videos great stuff👌👏

Wife and I watching this, "what a cute couple" she says. I agree, so cool you guys are still doing this together decades on. Love the old pics, history, memories. Inspirational family.

Delighted to see this trip. I tramped through this exact route in August 1976 - a 10 day trip entering at Umukarikari and exiting at Kaweka J. Fabulous weather although very cold.  At Ngaawaparua there used to be a three wire bridge up to the Otutu Tops that was completely iced over - and we crossed very gingerly early in the morning.

And that track section from the Harkness turnoff to Ngaawapurua was indeed a work of art back then when it was relatively newly cut. In my memory there was kms of beautiful narrow boot width track traversing steep slopes in a rare style - I've never forgotten that afternoon - an absolute delight.

Many thanks for bring these memories to life. I'll never get back to these treasure places in real-life now, but I can sure as hell celebrate the fact that I did have the privilege of being there when I was young and fit.
