Sometime I have to roll my eyes at how Army brats (not all and also I was also one) describe themselves. They get that Pre Army ego going.

The Kodiak story, I used to live on that island. Most of it is untamed wilderness, and the waters around it aren’t much better. I heard about the hunters of the water before, but always thought they were orcas. I was too young to know about anything too scary, but I’d watched orcas play with their food (sea lions) in the harbor enough times to know and respect their power. Also side note, the ferry they were on in the story was probably the Tustumena, not a ship I’d want to be a passenger on to encounter THAT

Fun fact about the Black-eyed Children lore: The second you learn about them, you're now guaranteed a chance of them visiting you. Some people even say that you'll feel compelled to let them in even though you clearly do not want to. Almost like your body moves to let them in before you can stop yourself. 😊 Sleep tight and don't open your doors after dark.

1st story seems like the black eyed children legend

The stories of "eyeless girls" and voice-mimicry reminds me of a story I heard during my brief stay in the U.S. about Wendigos.

According to the story, they are shapeshifters and can mimic any natural sound they have heard (human speech, animal sounds, etcetera) but they cannot mimic car sounds, gunfire, or other technological sounds.

While they can take the shape of any living creature, if they assume a human form their eyes are not visible, thus giving the illusion they do not have eyes. They also seem aware of this weakness in their shape-shifting, so often they wear hoodies with the hood on their head and look down at the ground.
