Why does everyone talk about the freezing winter but never the toasting summer? Especially wearing all those layers?

15:39 she has the exorcist vibe going on. Walking backwards with arms and hands facing backwards and then she turns her head like the exorcist

At the time, unmarried girls were allowed to have loose hair. After marriage, a lady’s hair had to be hidden under the hood and veil. Queens were allowed to have their hair loose on state occasions when they had to wear a crown. There is a coronation portrait of Elizabeth with her hair this way.

Always the Tudor period, which I find to be the most fascinating. The role of women is often overlooked and underestimated

What a fascinating and informative documentary. I didn't know how accomplished and organized these women were. Absolutely admirable

Think of the poor servants. Up before 5am and getting to bed whenever.

The sleeve is always the first area to become dirty or damaged. Therefore they were interchangeable and separate from the rest of the dress

15:37, Poor Margaret doesn't know she died of frost bite the night before, and is now a ghost walking backwards through the corridors.

At 3.57 minutes you can see a pair of modern taps over the washbasin.

Son is lucky to have a mom who corrects him over his mistakes instead of beating the hell out of him.

How amazing to learn of the Lady's of the Manors ability. Quite remarkable really. I would not have survived that era. And bathing is quite important to me, not once a week.

15:42 ~ That was some "Exorcist" 💩! Old girl was walking with her head facing the other direction until it spun around to face front! 😮

How to survive Tudor England: Don’t let King Henry VII catch your eye. If you see him run away! Like that scene in Devil Wears Prada when Miranda was first introduced.
