It's worth noting that Bardin is enough of a cultural rebel among dwarfs that the longbeards would probably freak if they found out the full extent of his fraternizing, he has;
1. Spoken khazalid among non-dwarfs who would normally be unworthy to hear it
2. Avoided becoming a slayer when taking the oath after failing to protect your children and your entire hold would be a big reason if there ever was one
3. Renounced his slayer oath through admittedly powers out of his control when it's supposed to be a permanent fate
4. Is best friends with an elf, to the point of playing therapy friend with her during her darkest moments
5. Has spoken of the Chaos Dwarfs in non-dwarf company, first giving them subtle acknowledgement and eventually straight up openly talking about them
6. Field tests weaponry that never should've left the engineers workshop for another few centuries
7. Shares his tools from the aforementioned engineers workshop to adjust his non-dwarf friends equipment
8. Suggests that some grudges are not worth pursing vengeance over, especially with the end times upon them

I'll always miss the glitch at Vermintide 2's release where Bardin would always say the ranger's ult line alongside what ever class he actually was so he'd "Show you an old ranger's trick" by jumping at a rat and screaming

What makes Kruber such a massive chad to me is that, despite having a legitimate reason to stop associating with Sienna (if not kill her outright) due to that necromancer business in Ostland, he's the only one who picks up on her being possibly posessed. He doesn't let his PTSD stop him from caring about her and that's admirable as hell to me.

Oh, and he also shittalks Be'lakor in Chaos Wastes to the point of actually making him seethe. What a lad.

Bardin's character flaw actually works wonders with his personality. The least secretive dwarf, and most sociable to non-dwarfs, in all the land is casually dropping a native language that most others consider sacred and keep hidden from outsiders?

Genuinely, me and my best friend play Vermintide so much we actually started figuring out which parts of the compound words in Khazalid meant what. To the point we started translating stuff naturally while reading WFRP’s Dwarf Player Guide.

Thank you, Professor Bardin, for teaching me Khazalid.

“These stairs go up” is one of my forever quotes after maining Bardin for hours

The entirety of the Empire of Man’s economy is supported by a haphazardly constructed tower of hats that once belonged to Kruber.

Kerillian was willing to blow the whistle on the lady of the lake being an elf goddess just to mess with Kruber. Thats how you know their bond and friendship is true

Four of the silliest bunch of traumatized goobers you’ve ever met.
And an elf.

Bardin calling out all enemies is lore-accurate. After all, stairs have killed nearly as many dawi as the rats and orks combined.

Vermintide and Vermintide 2 are basically how I fell ass-backwards into Warhammer. My bf plays and I got curious about these charming idiots so I went to look them up. Vermintide lead to Total War, Total War lead to Lorecrimes, and now I have no way to explain to my bf why I wanted to name our new kitten 'Thanquol'. (I was overruled, despite the kitten having killed 3 rats by the time he was 5 months old.)

"HOLY SIGMAR, BLESS THIS RAVAGED BODY" said Panc when it came time to inject insulin

BY SIGMAR A TALKING RAT

Fun fact about Franz Lohner, he's actually been around the setting longer than Vermintide. He's a retired Grudgebearer, from the Shadow of the Horned Rat and Dark Omen games, and it's very heavily implied that he's Morgan Bernhardt, the main character of those games.

Bardin´s Guide for Racial Porfiling:
Rakizharr - Warpfire Thrower.
Kazaki Dum  Chaos Warrior.
Rakogri - Rat Ogre
Troll - Troll
Zilazdumi Dumi - Blightstormer
Guzdumi - Leech
Thagi/Thagaraki - Assassin Rat tho he will use it as a phrase to mock the enemies.

Personally I think the best way to explain if the Vermintide gang got into the Age of Sigmar would be that, with the end of the world fast approaching, everyone from the keep goes out for one last "quiet drink",  get absolutely smashed, black out, and wake up in AOS. No explanation of how they got there, just the gang waking up in the mortal realms as the Skaven attack and going back to business as usual.

I still love that in ’a quiet place to drink’ the implications of Markus and saltzpyre ‘borrowing’ a wheelbarrow to simulate saltzpyres steam tank wish

I think pancreas qualifies as a honorary Bretonnian with the Kerrilian rant at the end
