I’m amazed by the curiosity and generosity of Mrs. Pretty. What an amazing gift she gave to the world with that discovery. This could have ended very differently.

Largest viking city in Denmark was Aros, nowadays Aarhus, which was the center of viking world in scandinavia from year 700. All items found in the old city of Aros, have signs that resemblence, with the finds in this grave in Suttern Hoo, southern England, which was danish territory(danelaw), during some of the viking age. So Aglo saxon is maybe right, but the center of the viking kings were not nothern germany or southern denmark, but at the capital of Aros, situated right in the center of the country.
Thankfully, Sutton Hoo did not fall prey to treasure pirates over the centuries. Since it was within the boundaries of a private estate, wealthy landowners acted as unwitting caretakers of antiquity.
