In this update for Ember—the commonplace book and journal app—we’re introducing two major new capabilities: image capture and natural language time-based search.
Ember isn’t just a digital box to stash away quotes you’ll never revisit; it’s an interactive space designed to help you actively engage, dialogue, and wrestle with ideas through journaling, voice reflections, and spark prompts.
What’s New in This Update:
Image Support in the Commonplace Book: Drag and drop screenshots, upload photos, attach quick notes, pin items to your mantle, or copy images directly to share with friends.
Reflecting on Visuals: Seamlessly spin up a reflection from any image or quote using voice-to-text with OpenAI Whisper.
New Reflection Prompt Modal: Connect the dots across your entries by surfacing related sparks, thought-provoking questions, or past reflections.
Time & Vibe Search: Filter your commonplace book using natural timeframes (e.g., “today,” “yesterday,” “last 45 days,” or specific dates) alongside vibe/semantic search.
