This song hit me sooo hard when i listened to it... i broke down right on the spot 😭😭😭   i was that kid who wasn't happy on my birthday, because it all felt so fake when i knew what happened behind closed doors 😔
But, I have pulled myself up from that sadness, fought my demons, and faced my trauma... and now I can truly say that I am "Happy"!
Thank you Bros for reacting to this one!  Love you guys ❤

It's a 'happy' song WITHOUT the music video.
It's a tear-jerker WITH the music video.
The look on the girl's face in the 'birthday cake' scene hits home HARD.

Here’s my take on the video itself: the young girl (always in white - innocent) represents her as a child. It goes back and forth with the child and adult who is following into her mom’s pattern. It’s hard for any of us to know what can be if we’ve never seen it. BUT, the little girl makes a wish and sees what can be.  She remembers her wish as a child. She knows life can be different without alcohol.  She sees herself happy, and, as a woman, she looks in the mirror she decides to change. Her shirt is now white. (Forgiven.) The lyrics now pivot and say, “I CAN’T keep on living in my agony...” She drives back to see her mom, and she wants to start there, a chance to break the cycle and start over.  The KEY to the whole life thing for NF is the prayer that starts it all. He says, “Dear God...” God hears and wants to have a relationship with you. Things can change. Anxiety can be overcome. There’s hope… hope in Jesus.

5:24 to 6:01 is the hardest hitting verse on the album imo

JK and NF is a perfect way to spend a Friday

Every time I watch this I cry like a baby when she blows out the candles and it shows that her wish was for a loving mother that was there for her 😭😭

I miss my mom so much 😢
Lost my mom when I was 25. She was only 47 and she died unexpectedly from complications from her drug use.
We were very close even with all her issues.
This song broke me

Can't wait for the full album reaction!!!😁

When she blows out the candles the video after that is what she dreamed and wished her life growing up was like versus what it really was...and it's about how she wanted a different life than what she grew up in but like so many times the cycle repeats itself...love NF and love his lyrics!

I have never clicked on the notification so fast 😯

Start of another nf journey

I finally set it!!!

Can’t believe I missed these videos, this is one of my fav songs by NF fr. Had it on repeat for days.

NF new  Album is Awesome and my favorite song off the album is Careful and Mama, Happy, Gone .

OMG!!! I haven't seen anyone else react to this track. I am sitting at my desk bawling!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY NF-DAY!!!

Good call guys! Heard this on the radio here today!

❤ Turn as a child things you don't deal with. And I would say her mom . It's it's hard as the kids and then things we don't deal with. Addiction

If that little girl and this song doesn't get a Grammy... One of my favorites can't listen wout crying. #NF4Life #RealMusic 🖤

One thing to consider is the song starts off by saying he is comfortable in his agony and wouldn't know who he would be if he was happy. The last section of the song he changed it a bit and said "BUT need to stop living in his agony" amazing song!
