This is how I learn my brother is going to Japan, take me with youuu

I Like your Bikepacking setup. Thanks for Sharing.

Good luck 🍀 be safe & have fun 🤩 🎉

Nice vid and nice bike as always.

That seat post is doing the most. You don't even need a lock in Japan. I saw super nice bikes just sitting unlocked all over. Have fun!

Travel safely. Did 6 weeks in Japan last summer without my Brompton……….  Bemoaning the wasted luggage allowance. Your set up makes it look possible!

nice setup good luck  in Jp.

Kichijoji is a nice and charming neighborhood. Studio ghibli museum is a short walk nearby if y’all are interested in that kind of thing.

Also dope setup man! I did the Shimanami kaido tour this March and want to go back to do a bike packing trip, was trying to figure out how I could strap my backpack to the bike and your video gave me a lot of ideas. Have a fun safe trip out there!

Thats pretty compact packing. Without taking a bike I seem to take twice as much! Safe travels!

West side of the Chuo line is pretty comfy to stay in Tokyo, anywhere between Shinjuku and Mitaka should be good! That front bag looks cool! I just wish the borough style bags have backpack straps, I hate carrying anything by a single shoulder strap!

Fantastic Vid. Makes me feel like going to Japan. One suggestion. I use a Bromptonb bag and for extra protection a folded yoga mat down the side works.

Bicycle touring is very nice in Japan, with very few steep climbs.
Take your time to enjoy. A trip round Lake Biwa is enjoyable too, in the anti-clockwise direction

It's great to see someone doing long tours with the low S-handlebars.  At 5'6",  I've been trying to decide on 1st Brompton to be mid-bar or the low S-bar.  Everyone talks about the "aggressive" forward leaning posture with low handlebars, but seems like you put in serious miles on these (I assume comfortably!)

Oh also I regretted only finding out about circles, another cool looking bike shop in Tokyo after my trip! A Brompton store also just opened in Tokyo that I didn't go to either.

this is such a sweet video. thank you for the inspiration here! I’d love to do something like this in the winter. think there is a duffel (like the 120L bag) that can fit the brompton G line?

Im debating between the C line & the G line - i went to a bike store and definitely prefer the ride quality of the G line - but im not sure the size is something that I can feasibly fly with should I chose to.

I guess another option would be to get thicker tires on a C line to still have the ride quality im looking for? could use any inputs your have :)

I really liked staying in Ota prefecture, but it's something like an hour by train to the central parts of Tokyo.

such charisma! i came here to see the decathlon bag, but stayed for the whole video. ( ps: please tell me im not crazy to check my t line in a double dimpa for a transavia flight )

You might like the Naka Megura (or Nakameguro) station area for a quieter place to stay in Tokyo.

150km ride, 1000m elevation on a brompton. That’s some solid days even for some advance cyclist on regular road bike

Commenting with the name of the bag, the Decathlon duffel 500 extend Simond, because I was trying  to find a video on air travel with a brompton with that specific bag and it never turned up in searches. I think outside of the Brompton groups on facebook, this might be the only source of information with this specific setup.
