Keith was a gentle soul. Rest in Peace lad. 🙏

The black dude is Maxim. He has always been a part of the Prodigy. He was in the 'Firestarter' video too.

RIP Keith ❤

Prodigy was the first electronic dance music to incorporate the darker more dramatic vibe of rock and metal.
They brought the dancefloor vibes to the metalheads, and brought the nasty brutal vibes to the dance floor.

Its HARD to explain now, what happened to a club when this shit hit. 💯 As soon as those sword clashes came on, the whole club either turned into a club scene from Blade, or two dudes ready to play real-life Street Fighter 2 in the middle of the dance floor. 🤣💯

It was a glorious time to be young, drunk, and not give a fuck. 😎

The Alligator was real. They nicknamed him Alan Gator and treated him to family buckets of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

30 years I’ve been listening to prodigy and their music still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

i was 10 years old when I first heard Out of Space. I've absolutely loved The Prodigy ever since

As few people wrote here the black dude is Maxim. He's the main MC of the band from the beginning

I was already a Mom when it came out, happily raised my kids on Prodigy and punk, metal!

Funny hearing prodigy described as rock. It's full on electronic dance music that occasionally has a bit of a punk flavour.

"Diesel Power", "Smack My Bitch Up", Funky Shit" 💪
Edit: You get extra points if you manage to find official music video for Smack My Bitch Up. It's banned on YT and it's one of the best music videos ever. Its also the second edgiest music video I've ever seen. The first one being "Born Free" by M.I.A.
You might wanna check her out aswell. She was an Indian-British rapper from 2000's. She was one of the first music artists that ever got cancelled, because she was speaking too much truth about the US government and the music industry.
"Paper Planes" was probably her most famous song.

"Back when you had to use a real alligator" 😂

I was at this festival in the Netherlands, on the side of a huge tent with 15.000 people in it...we were off our heads waiting for the Prodigy and then Smack my bitch up started and we knew....it was gonna go APE. We ran inside, got to the middle when the beat dropped BOOM! and we went off!

Start with their first album, The Prodigy Experience it's a masterpiece and captures perfectly the rave scene in 92. It's loaded with bangers .

i was born in the 80s and my mother listened to this constantly so I've been listening to this since it came out and i was in school. as weird as this sounds the prodigy will always remind me of her.

Iconic Prodigy, RIP Keith Flint (1969–2019)

@PaulLatham-n1o 6 months ago (edited)

Prodigy came out of the UK rave scene, but they were always a bit unique in that Liam Howlett was a big fan of hip hop. So the Prodigy mixed house music with sampling and turntablism to make a style of dance music that ended up being called breakbeat or breaks. They would later add punk and rock as the sound hardened to the music your hearing here.
