I do agree that I hate when companies blatantly copy another company, but some of these prices have gotten so crazy that I think a little competition is good for us as consumers because it will force them to look at their pricing
Its definitely bad taste on the trimmer copying but i cant say im mad to have hornady availability and pricing on berger style bullets, it realy helps shooters continue to shoot and thats is what its all about. Tired am I of batches of bullets, brass, etc being bought in ridiculous bulk leaving the average joe searching for the ability to enjoy the hobby.
It does get irritating with all the copycats. But it does cause these companies to create better products to keep these knock-off products at a cheaper price from outperform their own.
I agree with you, hornady is in poor form with the knockoffs. I will say, I had to try the temu 175 knockoff in my 308. As much ad it pains me to say this, hornady builds a better smk than sierra. Why hornady can't build their own bullets with that consistency is beyond me.
Piet I totally agree with you on Hornady ammunition, as a professional hunter in Africa for the last 10 years I have never had more bullet failures with any other manufacturer like Hornady. From dangerous game rounds tumbling or really sub par penetration to long range hunting applications where rounds failed to expand or over expanded and led to really dissapointing results. I have given Hornady a solid chance these last ten years but I can safely say I would never use them again for anything other than varmint or target applications.
Great video. If Berger cannot keep up with demand, I am glad Hornady identified the market issue and picked up the slack. With my ability, I shoot the Hornady just as well and save well over $50 per box.
In Australia the aeromatch are not that much cheaper than the Bergers. I'd be interested to see how they compare regarding BTO's, weights, lengths, batch to batch and BC consistency. I would wager the Bergers are better.
I'm running hornady 105 bthp with 30.5g of varget out of my 26" dasher at 2950 and my groups are 1 hole at 100 yards and I had my niece hitting a 3/4 ipsc at 650 yards with her 1st shots ever past 100 yards.
