This is becoming one of my favorite channels to watch for reviews!! I’ve got an HL-X and absolutely love it on my 300BLK rifle. Thought about getting a protac 2.0 but ended up with a big discount code for cloud defensive and bought a rein 3.0 instead. I think their biggest reason for the drop in candela on this light was to add more flood to the beam instead of having a more dedicated hotspot. I’m sure if streamlight wanted to they could build and absolute candela freak of a light but they want to stay economical for us commonfolk lol.

You like light reviews for the same reason you like pens. When you spend enough time dealing with a subject to become an expert, it is going to fascinate you.

I really appreciate your range demonstration of the Candela Vs Lumen.  That was really helpful for me to understand the difference!

I'm not sure how I missed your channel but glad I found it. Subbed.

Was listening to this in my car.. and that clap rocked my bass bro.. love it.. the light is sick..

What’s weird is the original pro-tac has 27,000 candela @1000 lumens vs 17,000 candela @2000 lumens on this pro-tac 2.0. I’ll be sticking with the original for my rifle mounted rail lights.

Candela on a combat/defensive light💡babee. Thanks for a great show and tell as always.

The new tail cap is nice. But everything else is a step back IMO.

2:53 -- That was a negligent discharge.  Keep your finger off of the bang switch.  **lol**
Thank you for the review!

Dam Straight.

Streamlight has so many options and love their tlr-1’s lights, as for this one I like it but little big imo but bright 👍🏽

Thanks

Huge streamlight fan lol btw carry extra battery in chest rig or plate carrier for extended life

cloud defense fabricates tape switch mounts for protac lights, well worth the $50 - the proprietary battery 🔋 for this model not a great thing, you’d have to decide

Thank you for such a great review! I'm looking into getting a Protac 2.0. It comes with a momentary switch in the pack, but I prefer the latching switch that has both momentary and constant function, so I'm gonna just get the light by itself and then buy a latching switch. The only thing that disappointed me a little bit it's that it doesn't come with any mlok mount for the light and the switch, which it's sad because I have a mlok handguard and I need to put on an extra piece of picatinny to it in order to install it. But other than that, I think this is what I'm gonna go for.

I just put some weapon oil on my light and then when it seems a bit dim I wipe the oil(and everything that sticks to the oil) off the light and see if that fixes it. If not I swap the battery and add some more oil to the lense.

Just a drop on the finger and smear a nice coat on there. Works for me it will work for you. Put almost 1300 rounds through a handgun with a protruding light bezel and did this. Took almost 400 rounds before I needed to wipe the oil off.

My mark 23 runs a streamlight trl4 g and bought streamlight pro-tac 2.0 for my shotgun.

Got mine for $110 without a tape switch, since I don't need one for my AK. Honestly tho, a Nitecore p20xi performs better for the same price...but you need your own light mount, and they cost about the same.

Boston ascent?

Can you use a sure fire switch?

Is the mount removable from the light.
