remember what that melusine said about paimon, that she is tied to strings that comes down from above? like how a puppet is to a puppeteer.

When we first meet Canotila she says she sees Paimon as a white balloon with a string going up into the sky. When asked how she sees the Traveller, she says she sees a monster that will eat the world.

its so strange because Paimon has certainly been subject to a lot of weird shenanigans from Teyvat that DON'T affect the Traveler. She's affected by Irminsul, she was affected by Dottore's time stop ability from Nod-Krai's AQ. But why not here?

Makes you wonder....

What if Paimon was the ship's AI? I see people theorized that the Heavenly Principles was, but what if its Paimon. What if Paimon is just a physical construct of the AL'S "consciousness". Maybe the reason she's so nerfed is because the AI experienced some kind of reboot. The AI is supposed to serve both twins and gather knowledge of whichever planet they are supposed to terraform or whatever. Paimon isn't bound by lore to any one twin, just whichever we as the player choose. What if Paimon/The AI no longer recognized the Abyss twins because they were altered to belong to Teyvat. So many questions

I refuse to give up on the loyalty i have for this silly character, until i see it with my own eyes paimon is still the best travel companion out there and nothing else.

I recall a certain line of dialogue spoken by Enjou long ago, about how perhaps you will face betrayal by a close one.

Someone should put a tinfoil hat on top of dawit's profile avatar.
The Traveler has likely already figured out who Paimon is. Paimon is Paimon.

Kings of Hell like Baal, Paimon, Asmodeus have some aspect over space, Teyvats borders, or alignment with descenders. Asmodeus to the Heavenly principals, Paimon to the Traveler, Baal possibly too the twin sibling. Perhaps Baal performed the summoning.
Dukes of Hell like Barbatos (Venti), Astaroth (Istaroth), Forcalor (Furina), Haborym (Mauvika) have some aspect of Fate or Time.
Marquises of Hell like Ronove (Ruler of Death), Neberius (Ruler of Life), Decarabia have some aspect of Life Cycles (Life and Death)
Presidents of Hell like Buer (Nahida) and Morax (Zhongli) have some power over Information and Logic.  Nahida being information storage via Irminsol, and Zhongli being the operation system or contracts.

If this trends holds it is likely that the Tsaritsa demon name is likely that of a King, and the descender is that of the gnosis.

The way I see it, it's because Paimon ranks above the watchers, thus they have no right to or will to even attempt to send her there

2:29 the desire is not "find the sibling" we alredy find them. the desire is understand why the sibling is acting the way they are acting, why they won't leave teybat with us and what happend in their journey. the "find the sibling" only last till liyue. (sorry, english is not my first language)

You're not wrong about the excuse Traveller made for Paimon, and he was very quick to do so as if he actually didn't want anyone asking questions. Also, the fact that Historia, the person with extensive knowledge of everything in Teyvat and the intricate workings of the Temple of Space just accepted that reasoning is very sus. Not to mention that Paimons desire for food, mora and treasure is off the scale compared to most people. But this does seem to happen when people start questioning Paimon, like with that door in the Perilous Trail quest. They ask her to try and she makes up some feeble excuse and everyone just accepts it and carries on as if it was nothing. To this day i still think Paimon activated the compass when she knocked it over with her bullshit panic attack.

I don't think Paimon is aware of who she truly is, (it would make for a better story if she did) but i do think that there is a higher power behind the facade. I'm waiting for her to slip up at some point, although she kind of did when talking to Mehrak in the recent Sumeru event that involved Thoth. It was the scene when they went into town to meet Alhaitham & Kaveh and she started talking to Mehrak in his own language, she realises says "Oops" then brushes it off and everyone takes no notice as usual. I'm waiting for the day shes mid conversation and says Greater Lord Ru..... oops sorry i meant Lesser Lord..... She also named Dexter Dex before ever knowing anything about it, thats sus as hell in its own right, and the Traveller didn't question it either which is also weird.

Personally i think it would be much better if everything that has happened to her so far is all false. Like you suggest above with her having no desires at all its all just a facade, a ruse to trick everyone into thinking shes the real deal. So when Dottore knocked out the Traveller with the sound device she just went along with it, when Irminsul gets altered she pretends to forget, when Dottore freezes time with the Trilune, she fakes being frozen. If you are a spy and you want to hide in plain sight, being immune to all those things would not help your case.

On a side note there are two events that have happened with Paimon that still have me confused, the first was when she had the reading from Barbeloths A.I. Dodoco. If that information was as serious as was made out it would have been sent back to the Hexenzirkel and they would all have known about Paimons fate. Whatever the result it would have been serious enough to effect the main story but we have heard nothing about it since. The second event is when Alice shrunk down Albedo & the Traveller to fight on the chessboard. Alice makes up some excuse that she couldn't shrink down Paimon, the question is did she try to do it but couldn't? This alone would make Alice suspicious considering her abilities, or does Alice know what Paimon is already? Either way these have massive implications in the story, because whichever way you look at it Alice would know something about Paimon.

Remember, how Kukulkan calls Paimon like "emissary"?
Yep, she is emissary of Celestia, perhaps, dragons knows their stuffs
World Quest Tollan, one of my favourite quest's alongside with Narzissenkruez Ordo and Aranara's quest

Teyvat is Paimon's space, that's why the game launch screen looks like the entrance to asmodei's space

Perhaps Paimon is a small fragment of the Primordial One, divided by Asmoday at the abyss sibling's request to guide us, to eventually usurp the PO

Paimon is Possibly the Nascent form of The Ruler of Reason.

Bro I forgot how Paimon sounded like at the beginning. Why did they have to make her a high pitched deflating baloon?? 😭

"Lenny really liked the rabbits" is CRAZY lmfaooo

The traveler skin lore explains it pretty clearly: P.A.I.M.O.N. the ship AI, released its emotional function (our Paimon) because it could not bear the eternal boredom of thousands of years of endless travels. When you shut down your emotional side, all that’s left is logic aka Reason. The ship AI or HP that remains is the purely logical overlord of Teyvet, hence why it comes off as cruel when sending down nails or punishments. It is only doing what is logical to prevent the Abyss. Our paimon is the emotional core that was ejected. It is 1/2 of the HP, not very logical perhaps but full of feeling and attachment to the siblings it cared for all those thousands of years of wandering the stars before.

Paimon probably has a big secret because they are so integral to the story and the Traveler but I don't think she is malicious. Probably something akin to being sent by someone to monitor the Traveler, but she herself is not aware of it. I find it unlikely that Paimon who has an icon to the game menu will be make an antagonist or someone who will betray the Traveler.

As for why she is not sent to the Apathic Interval, I have a theory. They are not sent there because they have desires, as you said, Dex doesn't seem to have any. Rather, it was Melanta who wants to exile anyone who wants to change things in the Temple of Space. I want to think that perhaps Melanta has no power over Paimon because of her special status, which is higher than that of a Watcher.

I’m 99% certain that Paimon is either a reduced form of the Primordial One (similar to Guoba) or the ship’s AI after taking humanoid form and losing its memories.
Regardless, Paimon is not evil. Even if she were to ascend and become HP again, she would still remember what Teyvat is like now, and wouldn’t be ok with nuking the nations with celestial nails again. And if she were the ship’s AI, she might regain some power if the ship is eventually fixed. The data logs being scrambled might explain Paimon’s incorrect/limited knowledge of the world.

Also 8:20 you’re wrong. It’s not about desire at all. It’s about authority. Asmoday doesn’t have the authority to command Paimon. Paimon has better admin privileges, she just isn’t aware of them. So the apathic interval cannot take anything from her. She’s a black box to it.
