Amy is great. In 1978 I took a girlfriend to see a class 55.  she dumped me the same day. well my book now has all the 55's ever made.  so who's laughing now then.

I think I’ve just found the happiest YouTuber in the world. I don’t know how I came across your channel, but I’m so pleased I did. I don’t care much for trains as much as I used to when I was a child. Watching you enjoying your passion though, is somehow uplifting. Both my wife and I are now both avid fans. Here’s to us all being different and yet somehow all sharing a connection.

My dad started work on the railways in 1937 at the age of 15. Tea boy, then talked to every driver who stopped at Three Bridges. Secretly learning what they did. Then he had a serious motorbike accident when he was 17 as a pillion passenger. Spent 6 months in hospital and had metal holding him in one piece, like a guinea pig, as most of this was new. Missed the war as the railway was key, and he was unfit to serve or even work, come to that. He worked on passenger/troop trains and ammunition trains to the Arsenal, "The Gunners." He became a qualified loco driver in 1947. Stopped driving after 1982 due to health. He passed away in 1985 at the age of 62. When I see your videos, it rekindles the excitement I felt as a kid, being taken down to the steam depot. Thank you, as your enthusiasm is catching. Malcolm
