"The Walking Dead" Filming Locations - Then & Now

Film Safari

Stories about zombies are as old as the horror genre itself. But hardly any production has achieved such cult status as the series "The Walking Dead". Fans were able to follow the stories of Rick, Michonne, Carl and Co. for eleven seasons before the show ended in 2022. In this video I show you the filming locations of "The Walking Dead" in and around Atlanta - including Woodburry, Alexandria and many other important places.

A film by Matthias Schwarzer.

09/23/2025 Your video popped up in my feed, and I watched it OMG! I love your work, Your research, your scene matching! It’s not likely I will get to Atlanta( live in Texas) though I have wanted to tour several locations in Georgia. You have been my eyes, and I am thankful.

Greg Nicotero (special make-up effects artist for the show) and Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) opened a restaurant in Senoia, right on the main strip there. It's called Nic & Norman's, 20 Main Street. You were right near it but didn't get a shot of it. RE: Alexandria --- AMC bought land in Senoia and had real, functioning homes built, to create Alexandria. So, it wasn't a typical set. When filming ended, the homes were sold.

Klasse gemacht!
