The plan didn’t quite go to plan this time… but sometimes that’s when the best moments happen! 🎣🐬

Over the course of the week, I fished several different locations and marks on building tides at various stages, using a selection of mackerel, squid and sandeel baits. The target species were thornback ray, spotted ray, red mullet and tub gurnard… but the fishing had other ideas!

While the planned targets didn’t quite come together, one session turned into something truly spectacular when we were treated to an incredible dolphin show! 🐬 What an amazing sight and definitely a moment that made the trip worthwhile.

I’ll have to head back out and try again for those rays and other target species — that’s fishing!
