I used to work with a woman who was muslim, and she was not a nice person. She was extremely arrogant and elitist, she thought that islam should take over the world, and she looked down at her nose at non-believers. Sounds familiar to me. Too familiar, as in not unique to islam. Bad attitude and elitism isn't a muslim thing, it's a shitty human trait and nothing more.

Why don't we talk like this in school?
An old rabbi once said, "What we don't know about each other could fill volumes".
Let's get on with the path to understanding each other.

My problem with women covering their face is not about choice. I absolutely believe that some women choose it. The question is... WHY. They don't really explain that. Why do you choose to cover your face? I have heard some people say that it is their way to be close to God or honor God, but again... why? Does their God want women to cover their face?

Why should someone adding music be louder than the guests? Please, no more music. We’re here to hear voices.

Did anyone answer why men don't have to wear a veil or head covering?

What does “It’s been scientifically proved[sic] that men are visual” have to do with a man shaking a woman’s hand?

I would really love the girl who said that she wears her head covering by choice but also gets jealous of other women when they don't to elaborate on that 🤔

Holup, the "blood" in a rare steak is not blood, it's myoglobin from the muscle. It's why the meat is red. Overall every religion stops people from thinking logically and provides a pre-chewed set of ethical precepts that don't adapt to the world as it changes, or as we understand it better... and this is what makes religious extremists a problem for society. Be them Muslims or Christians or whatever.

They didn't answer the question about why men don't cover up. They went off the subject and on to talking about burqas, niqabs and hijabs for women.

The problem that comes from the face being covered(when the 2 sisters were talking about being ignored or whatever in the store) well yeah, human communication is extremely visual, so when all you see are eyes, it's awkward, you don't know if the person is frowning or smiling, then there's the micro expressions that can also communicate a lot. Whether it's niqab or a face mask, both make people seem unapproachable. Probably something left over from our evolutionary path, something about pattern recognition, danger danger can't read your expression so I don't know if you're going to share food with me or hit me with a rock.

This was really cool

If hijab is a choice then what does this bearded man think of a woman who was wearing hijab for so many years but suddenly decides not to wear it.

That's the right question to ask

@ifnointentiondontmention 2 months ago

Funny why the men can't control themselves with the sight of a women , why dont the men wear face coverings. The women should not have to suffer with being covered due to men having no self control. Control the men with coverage not women.

I understand that a lot of the rules muslim people have to abide to reflect the society, the hygiene and the customs of 7th century Middle East. But sticking to these rules even today, when medicine, technology, lifestyle and values are so different seems odd for a non-muslim. For example, I understand that a people who lived in the desert without means to properly clean themselves needed to distinguish with which hand they wiped and with which they ate, but today with running water and soap why is this still relevant? Tradition? The scriptures? I don't mean to offend anyone.
