I only now realized you call us buds because you're a lotus... which is a flower. Silly detail but it made me smile.

2:12  You can also use traps on frogs, which means if you have a bunch of grass and sticks during a frog rain you pretty much have infinite food

Another tip: (I learned it too late)

You can fuel ice flingomatic with any kind of fuel, that you can use in endothermic fire pit, not only nitre

For example: logs, boards, oars, twigs, grass, pinecones, straw rolls, log suits etc.

You can save so much nitre and time mining it
Unless you main Winona

This video came in handy before Don't Starve Together's upcoming mobile release❤

Crock pot food tier list would be peak

9:00 fun fact, Woodie has a different speech when he sees fake glowberry even when its rainy

Bonus tips:

1. Ice staves are great for putting out fires and disabling annoying mobs like mac tusk and bishops!

2. You will know that your world has grass geckos if there are no grass tufts in your grasslands.

3. You can pre-craft structures by spending the resources for them, and then right clicking to disable the placement. This will let you place the structure FOR FREE at a later time, thus freeing up the inventory space the resources would have taken in your inventory. This is great to do when you are exploring the map.

4. You can take ZERO DAMAGE from enemy attacks by dodging them (🤯). This is called kiting the enemies and there are plenty of guides on youtube showing you how to do it. Hounds, large groups of spiders, and shadow creatures are by far the most important enemies to learn for beginners.

5. Turn of lag compensation in the general settings to be able to kite shadow creatures in a more bearable way. Learning how to fight them would be one of my top 5 priorities if I was new to the game since they drop very valuable nightmare fuel. You also won't die to them lol.

6. There will be 15 (mainland) biomes in any given surface world. 10 of these are guaranteed, 5 are randomized from a pool of 10 other biomes. You can only find touchstones to revive at in 8 of these biomes. The 8 biomes in question are all the guaranteed biomes except the forest with the mandrakes, and the oasis desert.

7. The Eyebrella and Chilled amulet can be combined to never overheat in summer. Just make sure you only put on the chilled amulet when you actually need it and use the eyebrella to keep the coolness. You can still wear a backpack and just briefly use the chilled amulet. This or just go in the caves during summer.

8. Speed bonuses stack multiplicatively. For example, the walking cane will not only boost your base speed but also the speed boost you get from a road making the road even better.

9. Making a miner hat is really good early since it can easily be fueled by light bulbs, it will let you work at night, and it's pretty cheap to craft. Definitely make it. (I generally prefer it over the lantern)

10. Twiggy trees are not as bad as you think. You can dig up planted pine cones using a shovel to get a twig each. One twiggy tree is basically 4 twigs.

11. A bottle to locate Pearl will always try to spawn at the start of day 3. If you're out on the ocean, you will find one!

12. You can kill butterflies by holding Ctrl + F while standing INSIDE them. This will net you their butterfly wings that heal you for 8 each! Great for early game!

13. Walls won't protect you from enemies on their own. Fighting the enemies or running away are much more reliable strategies. The only way walls would protect you would be if you break the enemies pathing by combining them with an impassable structure (this is finicky).

14. Be nomadic early! It's better to scout the map before making a base right at the portal. This way you can identify a good base location close to important resources/good wormholes and sinkholes, AND you can gather those important resources as you go. It will only take about 8-9 days if you run along the edges, and it's a great way to start a world as a beginner!

15. When you explore, make sure to pick up chester. He's always close to the brick road, close to a lot of ponds, or in a swamp! He will be invaluable to carry more things in the early game!

16. The hambat is an amazing weapon! It can be crafted with the exact ingredients you would get from a werepig + 2 twigs at an alchemy engine! Either kill a werepig or catcoons to easily make it. You can use the hambat infinitely for 10 days and it deals more damage than a spear! It's awesome!

17. KILL DEERCLOPS WHEN SHE SPAWNS. The eyebrella you get from Deerclops will make spring and summer way easier. Not to mention that if you don't kill Deerclops, she will despawn or destroy your base. Either kite her by breaking her ankles (make sure to bring sanity food), or tank her with a marble suit next to a campfire.

18. Eat red caps. They're delicious and will definitely not kill you 😏.

Good luck!

Wait, you could use sanity with that beardling trick to make bacon and eggs from 4 rabbits!

1. Catch 4 rabbits/beardlings
2. Cook 3 beardlings into monster meat while just insane enough for them to not be rabbits
3. Become sane enough to turn the last rabbit into morsel (you could prototype a new thing if you had building materials but no food)
4. Feed a caged bird two of the monster meats to get eggs
5. Crock pot monster meat, morsel, two eggs, and get bacon and eggs

Could give you a quick 20 healing if you need it, or stretch out the food value of those rabbits a bit if you have no meatball filler

for tip 24, you can also do this with wendy! if you tell Abigail to haunt something the same effect aplies. Not only that but this same effect aplies after she uses the "scare" feature, forcing every scared spider to drop glands as long as they die under the effect.

3:07 just shift-drop the statue.

5:50 hey, if you're playing as granny wanda/wes/wendy (with no abby) then do not blindly hold [attack] on the werepig if you're using a spear/axe. It takes so long to kill them with the reduced damage that the werepig will trigger the aggro animation (the howl) and will not get interrupted to attack you, So be wary of that.

7:10 so are spider dens! Not only can you use spider dens for farming spiders, you can also deconstruct them to get papyrus from them. It's a really good use of extra spider dens that have no other use in an advanced world. Papyrus has more uses than a spider den sitting on a chest. And you can also deconstruct spider hats for some extra spider drops if you want that.

8:53 correction: although you can't tell a wet unsafe glowberry from a wet safe glowberry. You can hold a torch (or any item that offers the "light" prompt) and hover over glowberries, unsafe glowberries will not allow you to light them, while safe glowberries will allow you to light them, allowing you to check what glowberry is safe, and which one has a surprise under it while it's moist in the caves.

10:06 it can also be used to water withered/wilted plants to restore them to the original default state. Althought it's not very useful as a way to keep harvesting resoruces, because the plants will wilt again after a few minutes. It's still a good thing because it allows you to pick up the plant without destroying it and moving it to your base under the coverage of a flingomatic.

10:22 they do not destroy wanda's clocks for some reason, so you won't lose your walrus tusks on the backtreck/rift watches.

11:19 i'm pretty sure you can still plug the moon caller's staff outside of the event for this.

12:35 you can feed the eye masks in your inventory, you don't even have to be weating the shield/hat to get the glow. It also applies for pets in your inventory, so feeding a rabbit or buttefly in your inventory, gives the same result.

13:13  Here's a good recipe to remember: breakfast skillet: 2 eggs, 2 veggies (can be  kelp) you can turn small/spoiled meat into eggs, and kelp is very easy to come by from bull kelp stalks. It gives you 20 hp and lasts for 20 days while also giving you a decent amount of hunger in return.

14:33 a one-man-band will tend to all crops within a 4 tile radius around the player. Equipping a one-man-band after you've finished planting all your crops and running in a circle so they're all happy is a good strat so that you don't have to look for shell bells from pearl. You can also just equip the one-man-band for 1-2 seconds and all the crops will be tended to without much durability loss.

14:57 also: more bees spawn from nests if you attack a bee in spring. Good thing to keep in mind because you get more killer bees in spring, it's also useful if you're collecting killer bees for cheesing crab king. (Wortox's weapon/net allows him to pickup all the bees in an area with no risk if you run straight towards them while holsing [pickup], so there's that for the fellow imps.)

16:56  you can dry bunny-puffs for small jerky by the way.

17:37 it does work on some bosses. You can light deerclops, bee queen, bearger (though bearger panics), moose goose (and moslings), and a few others. So you're free to burn bearger and see her flail about, trying desperately to extinguish herself for your entertainment.

Here's a tip not covered by the video: merms are territorial! They won't attack you for standing in front of their faces, but will attack you if you get too close to their property or attack them first.

3:15 you can put statues down perfectly by clicking shift+rmb on them in your inventory
This works with every item btw

8:46 Fun fact : Woodie can make the difference between a classic glowberry and a hidden worm when quoting them . Why ? I dunno , but it's here .

13:50 as the #1 fire nettle fan I can say they have a good use, stacking them for winter makes exploration way easier, not needing to stop at all to heat up is great and they're even good early as a decent way to keep you warm if winter caught you lacking, making a farm with these is also just a good way to help on bosses that cool you down like klaus or lunar deerclops, now its not TOO useful but hey its honestly just free temperature so why not

Something i want to add: Those Rabbit traps also work on Frogs. Have problem with frog rain? Place a bunch of traps near your base and lure the frogs in.

7:02 you laugh but this is good for all the psychos who don't turn off twiggy trees

4:52 this is actually incredibly useful since one morsel can't make a meatball but one monster meat can

TIL that eyemask has  eating animation 12:40

12:50 this is actually useful when you are a wigfrid since you cant even eat it, i used it a lot in my playthroughs when rushing ruins, its genuinely good

21:40 there are usually 2 beefalo spawns, a big one in the savana, and a smaller one on a small chunk of grassy turf, so if you fear of making beef go extinct you can just base near one of those and if you somehow overshoot and all of them die on one spot, you can bring one of the beef from the other spot to repopulate

3:00 you can just drop them with shift for same result
